I looked at this atv when it first came out ,it was just the renegade with differant plastic...still had the aluminum shock towers under the fenders come on polaris...

almost died on my 1000. been riding my whole life. but to take this bike around the trails as shown is ridiculous. the bike weighs like 900lbs. hurts quite a,bit when it rolls on u as opposed to say a Yamaha 450. 3 broken ribs, punctured lung, clot in leg, cracked pelvis, stupidest wreck 10ft from my front door. caught a rut. it tossed me then rolled end over end onto me. if ur were a lighter bike it wouldn't of been a problem. then two months after my wreck my little one liened forward and hit the throttle launching it toward brick wall. I managed to stop 1 ft shy. I used to think power was everything but clutched lighter bikes is the way to go

I've seen that happen with these and sportsman still awesome quads I get nervous seeing them sideways or when I over throttle and slide out on my 850.

How is the ride on them in regard to overall " butt and back" comfort??? I know the sportsman is the ultimate solution to back problem issues but I came from a sport quad background. My old 400x could climb and do things the big 4x4 wouldn't because of my experience using the throttle power and using my weight to move it around. I just enjoy a smaller bike with big power that lets me throw it around and control it with my body input. The sportsman is so big and heavy I just feel like I'm along for the ride and not much input I can put in to alter citations. Real problem is at 32 I've had 3 back operations on my spine. I can't take being beat up to badly anymore. My sport quad days are over unless this scrambler has a plushy sportsman type ride . The scrambler inspires me as being my old 400ex on steroids with a IRS suspension. My body wants a blush ride that doesn't jerk and bang me up but my heart was fast and ability to use body English to get things done

The Scrambler uses the Polaris XP Chassis just like the Sportsman XP. The rides would be very similar just the Scrambler shed some weight.

JohnnyRebKy this is me too man minus the back surgeries. But I feel for ya. With my body not what is was I want a smooth ride but still love the sporty fast ride. After a lot of research I think this 1000 scrambler rides just as nice as the sportsman I think they are using the same shocks and chassis.

So honest question did I cheat myself getting the 2017 850 Ho instead of the 2018 1000 XP I really wanted the 1k but I could not bring,my self to droping that kind of,money (even though I had it) on the 1k the dealer told,me I would have the same amount of fun on the 850 as the 1000 besides the shocks led headlamps. And wheels the difference in speed was well different

+Ben Breckner Not phenomenal. If you get the tires spinning in the mud (and you will) it has a tendency to fly up and over you. Mud coverage on the Sportsman is better.

Tommy Teske I love those old 400 2 strokes, great power, reliable. I had a 400 Xplorer, would go more places in 2wd than todays 900lb utilities bikes, the thing was an animal, you just had to keep the chain tight!

In my opinion can am is better. My friend has the scrambler 1000 and I have the renegade 1000. The suspension and steering on the scrambler is too harsh compared to the renegade. You’ll get exhausted on the scrambler.

I knew a couple friends who both had yfz 450's and they would easily top 80 mph bone stock. I'm not so sure about the 89 mph top speed stock on the Quadzilla. I know they were fast but that might be stretching it a bit. A stock banshee would do about 80 and the Renegade 1000 is basically the same speed and power as the Scrambler 1000. Lets just say that all of these machines are wicked fast, that's something we all can agree on. The fastest I've ever been on a quad is on my Grizzly 660 going slightly downhill, the speedo hit 68 mph.
