I was asked to ride this bike through the whole city.
It was bought in USA and shipped to Ukraine.
For me this bike is slow but beautiful.

The reason it has lots of vibration is because it has a single pin crank shaft (just like the ACE) VS a Dual pin like on the Spirit or Sabre; the Spirit and Sabre have 10 More HP and 5 ft pounds more torque and are very smooth and little vibration as a result. Actually the pipes on this are much less restrictive than the ACE and that gives it about 4 more HP as a result. The Areo has the best sounding stock pipes of all the VT1100's.

Nice review. I've got a '99 in blue and black. Exact same model. You're right, they don't go very fast. We refer to this kind of bike as a "bar hopper". Ride to the bar, have a beer, give a girl a ride... ;)

I have a 98 honda vt1100 aero I had my carbs jetted and man its makes a huge difference in power my mechanic put 45 in idle jets then put 185 jets in the front and 180 in the rear you need to have your bike jetted might be able to turn the fuel mixture up but have the carbs balance too

Good job on the video it does vibrate if its tuned good it doesnt shake to bad my harley shook alot more I have a 98 honda vt1100 aero just took the vance and hines straight shot pipes off when I was able to locate a nice set I love my honda it's a not as fast as the harley dyna glide but its alot smoother than the harley especially at high way speeds up to 110 mph

Slow compared to what? Slow is a relative term. It is a cruiser, not a sport bike. So yes, it's not as fast. But compared to other cruisers, it holds it own.

I ride Honda VTX1800C. That one is slow compare to VTX, but we also fond the clogged air filter on that motorcycle, so after the replacement and carburator cleaning Aero is Ok. That is nice motorcycle. Thanks for your comment.

I own this bike..This is the bike Harley Davidson sued Honda over & won..It's based on a 1949 Harley down to the trim & single pin crank. & it sounds like a Harley & yes it vibrates like a Harley..And I love my bike. It has a very classic look with the trim & white wall tires..I traded my old Gold Wing with 100.000 miles ( it ran perfect also) ...Enjoyed you video..Be safe.

Wind those gears out..... 2nd gear will easily wind out to 50mph, 3rd 75mph, i leave harleys, and sports cars in the dust, those pipes are probably the problem, they sound cool, but performance has been compromised, the vt1100 is no rice rocket, however when its tuned right, its definitely not a slug..

Bill Bill Hi. After the trip owner discovered that carburetor was very dirty. Motorcycle has much bettet performance now after the cleaning. Seems like it was first air filter change and this bike was riding only in Nevada deserts... Cheers!

I had Vance and hines straight shots that were on the bike when I bought it was not jetted so my mechanic did stage 2 jets ran good but then I finally found like brand new oem exhaust it ran better with the stock 2 in 1 exhaust like u said the wide open exhaust hurts performance my bike is really quick

Shadow is not so good at stop and go (IMO)...excellent thoroughfare and freeway bike. Great between 60 to 80 MPH.
