Hut ab! Das ist noch wahre Handwerkskunst und ich bin nicht erstaunt, dass die Heimat dieses Wunderwerks in Deutschland liegt, dem Land der Tüftler und Perfektionisten. Nein, die Zeit der Mechanik ist bei weitem noch nicht vorbei, Bits und Bytes können mal nun nicht fahren, fliegen oder was auch immer. Es wird deshalb immer Leute brauchen, die dieses grosse Talent (mit allem was sonst noch dazu gehört ...) um diese Welt zu verbessern. Bravo!!

@@rainerzufall689 vermutlich schon, aber das ist auch „Handwerk“, man muss vieles verstehen bevor man in der Lage ist so einen Motor zu bauen. Könntest Du es?

@@jean-marcducommun8185 Wenn das so ist - und davon gehe ich aus, ist das eben KEIN Handwerk. Außer der Maus muss die Hand dabei eigentlich nichts berühren. Das Können liegt alleine im geistigen Bereich, also die Idee zu haben, das ganze in CAD zu zeichnen und sich zu überlegen, wie man es im CAM dann gefertigt kriegt. Ob es dadurch leichter oder schwieriger wird, kann man so einfach nicht beantworten. Es ist mehr möglich und dementsprechend bleibt der Schwierigkeitsgrad vermutlich vergleichbar - hoch. Als Vertreter der Bits und Bytes konnte ich diese Schmähung jedenfalls nicht ungerügt lassen. Du kannst das Ding gerne loben, aber nicht als Handwerkkunst, sondern eher als Ingenieurskunst aus Deutschland, was ja auch nichts Falsches ist. Ob das allerding die Welt verbessert... da meine ich, dass es nützlichere Erfindungen gibt. Würde man es beispielsweise endlich mal hinkriegen, eine kostengünstige all-in-one Speicherlösung für Strom in Form eines Seecontainer o.Ä. zu bauen (also keine Batterie), könnte man hierzulande, aber auch in entlegenen Regionen endlich mal ein sauberes, dezentrales Stromnetz haben. Das wäre revolutionär und ich hoffe, dass demnächst mal jemand wirklich den Durchbruch schafft.

Bist ein naseweiser Schlaumeier, ich wette Du könntest so etwas nicht annähernd herstellen. Das sind herausragende Fachleute und ob von Hand, oder mit dem Kopf spielt keine Rolle, das ist wie in der modernen Medizin, wo der Chirurg einen Roboter bedient für die Operation und trotzdem ganz genau wissen muss was er tut auch wenn er das Skalpell nicht in der Hand hat.

@@ThomasDoubting5 would be very cool but i don’t think you would be able to power a scaled B-17 with 4 of these and fly in it sadly. For it to be a real useable aircraft, the wings would need to be full of fuel, which is very heavy and this is just a 700cc engine. Which is very very small. 4 of them would barely be 2.8L displacement. A cessna has 6L displacement and 150-200hp but a lot of torque and 2.8L combined is not enough for a plane this big that needs to carry a person. I saw a video yesterday of a group of french that built a massive C47 with 800cc 7cyl radial engines and they did a thrust test and found out the engines aren’t powerful enough.

Sadly he passed away in June of 2020. Maybe the new owner will look into a radial conversion. But I suspect they will leave it as it was designed and built. It is truly a work of art.

Technische Daten und Verbrauch, alles drum rum um den schönen Motor wäre noch superinteressant. Ich war früher auch Modelbaufan, allerdings blieb ich mit 4 Reifen auf dem Boden. Allerdings finde ich einen solchen Motor für den Modellbau schon fast grenzwertig, damit könnte man schon ein kleines Flugzeug in die Luft bringen.

Perfect for a HUGE Sea fury.....or 4 of them in a 20 foot span Connie.......50 inches of pitch seems excessive though....4 foot forward with every rotation ??? I doubt that. With that pitch. it equates to approximately 442kph@5800RPM. I would argue that one....

It’s not the cameras, it the users having their shutter speed set to high. Lower shutter speed and props will blur nicely like our eyes see it. Take a DSLR camera and video a propeller and adjust shutter speed as you look at the monitor. You will see the differences drastically with prop.
