This doesn't make sense, how does the phone read the battery condition of the car wirelessly?? does it sense electric or electromagnetic field? This seems to good to be true

it needs an OBD adapter pluged on the car, dummy

My Dad didn't use his Lexus ct200h for a year. The aux battery had to be replaced as a result. The car seems to drive fine. Would the lack of use be a problem for the hybrid batteries?

It depends. NiMH high voltage batteries are less sensitive to lack of use than old lead acid auxiliary batteries. If the car was parked with a low HV battery, a year later it might be unhappy, but if it was parked mostly full, it may be ok to start. How did it turn out? Your comment was 10 months ago... Since you were able to start and drive it; I think you're fine. You could test it with Dr Prius, an android device and a Bluetooth OBD2 reader to see the health and remaining battery life.

@@cawag98 i just bought a ct 200h that only ran 200km in 1 year. wondering if that affected hybrid battery life

I tried to do battery test but battery wouldn’t go past 80% is that bad the. I kept trying for a while then it said battery warm what does that mean when battery temp was good at first

Thanks! I just tested my 2021 Prius AWD (less than 2,000 miles) and she's at 115%....very nice! I'm going to test my wife's 2017 Prius LE next. (It has 25,000 miles)

You're so good bro... What's the difference between the basic and the workshop app? Purchase?

Dude, you waste gas and time. NiMh battery have voltage more less flat and dropped suddenly when it almost empty. There is no way to know the condition of the battery until one or some of the cells died or loose too much capacity and triangle CEL shown. After all, you can expect the battery to last at least 10-12 years if it is well maintained and live in mild climate. Very rarely any problems before 10 years but after 15 years it is time for reserving some money for replacement. $2k should be enough to get new cells from Toyota dealership

This isn't true. The voltage discharge curve may be reasonably flat on a good battery, but it's perfectly possible to measure discharge and voltage depression based upon known expected results both on individual cells as well as the whole battery. This is not my app and I do not know how it is programmed, but I do know the data is there to draw meaningful results.

@@fraserp2377 Prius Dr. Is the most useful apps for hybird. The internal resistance of the battery is more important than any other parameters. It tells the condition of the battery and the contacts. I can guarantee, 10y the are all still good. If it is bad, most likely you need new or clean the bus bar connector from corrosion. The cells are usually last 10-20y depends on the climate and where you park.
