i met him in Malmö,Sweden where i live, on a Testament concert. After the concert he was hanging outside together with his good friend Gene Hoglan. Steve is a very nice dude and he speaks fluently spanish. We had a nice conversation. A good memory. A very good bassist playing with one of my top 5 metal bands TESTAMENT !

What a cool dude!!!! I've followed him since he was with Sadus back in 1990. What an amazing bassist! He is my favorite metal bassist. When I encourage bassists who refuse to learn to play with their fingers, I show them a video of Steve Di Giorgio, Geddy Lee, or Les Claypool. Steve is better than Cliff Burton, but Cliff was a pioneer and Steve took the bass to more extreme levels.

Meeting a lot of my favorite bass players has always been mixed feelings. Steve Harris was a real gentleman. He got up when I walked in the room and he was exhausted after a show... Geddy Lee was dissapointing. The fact that he is a very reserved person didn't help... Steve Digiorgio is still my all time favorite. We talked like normal people. We discussed gear. Amazing! A hell of a guy. Him, the boys from Testament, and Gene too.

I grew up in the farm life. In the 90s when we had "upgraded" and bought the farm on the Canadian Border (Seaway Valley of NNY with Quebec, 1 hour from Montreal) and were there from 93-97, (went under Sept 96) if I was handling milking, I had my Magnavox boom box on a board on a wheelbarrow, and usually could be found blasting Ozzy, Metallica or TestAmenT lol. Hey, cows produced more on Metal. We have only 43 Acres left. Got chickens, and 2 goats. Yes a Chickenusually stops laying at 5 or 6 years. We don't get a big amount from ours. They do keep the tick population down tho!
