The speed limeter is literaly killing the joy the car is great but why they need to limit it and 160 is a very ridiculus ans absurd speed to be honest it would be less bad if the limiter was atleast at 190 like on some outlander.

It looks as though Mitsubishi has put a limiter on the eclipse cross phev. I will never understand why car manufacturers do that.

multiple reasons, regulations change based on max speeds, required tyres change based on max speeds (that's why tyres have speed codes)

A phev is built for short distances so that as much as possible can be driven in electric mode. The combustion engine is only there to support the electric drive when power is needed or to charge the battery. the faster the car goes, the more gasoline is used. But that is not in the spirit of a phev.

@@MrVideonic there is no speed limiter on the outlander phev, this is a decision they made specifically with the eclipse cross only. The outlander phev can easily hit 180kmph. The eclipse cross phev system is burrowed from the older outlander phev but even the older outlander phev does not have a speed limiter

@@25musicmaker you sill see the new 2025 outlander phev soon in Europe, it also has no speed limiter. Like the eclipse cross phev, it has nothing to do with battery life ,Mitsubishi just made a bad decision to limit the speed

Official it is about 61KM pure electric. But in reality it is about 45 to 50km

Great design, bad performance in any ways. Big engine and such a lack of power. They could instal 1L turbocharged instead and pleasure to drive would be better. Don’t understand the concept of this car. Useless!

Why? It's interesting combination with serial-paraller drive system. Not designed to be fastest or with extreme low fuel consumption. Something in between.

You are right. You don't understand the concept of this luxurious car. It´s made to spare fuel but having all current available driving assistance systems you can imagine, pure luxus inside (at a reasonable price) and finally enaugh power to drive also on german Autrobahn; while 98% are driven speed limitied areas aorund 50km/h. So what? BTW: There are always faster and more powerful cars.
