Anyone with even the slightest amount of working knowledge of brass instruments knows that the size of the tip of the pipe that the sound is traveling through absolutely changes the depth of the tone

​​@@dg1738it means a deeper sound than with a smaller tip or tips. Personally I like megaphones like the old hot rodder's used to use. They keep the tone high pitched but bring the volume up. You get to hear all the snaps and crackles.

I put 4"x18" tips on my F150, after having just plain tailpipes- the tips increased the volume quite a bit and gave it a ton more drone. I had to take them back off.

So, tone is really subjective. There's volume, and there's quality of sound. So if it sounds ugly it's just sounding ugly louder. I'm not a fan, but since these folks are, more power to 'em. I do think the 6" tips could've been aligned better against the half-moon bumper openings. But, does it really matter when Uncle Jesse and Cooter are showing off their truck nutz? Then again, to my eyes, having tips that are more than 2x the diameter of the tail pipes just looks sad. Kind of the same vibe as showing off your 22" wheels over your 10.5" drum brakes.

If you’re going to make a comparison everything except what you’re comparing needs to be the same. You can’t compare a Y pipe single exhaust to true duals and title the freaking video “this size tip vs this size tip” 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ because it all effects the tone. Its starting to make me mad because this channel has the most views with inaccurate information.

@bryanunion5110 look up fluid motor union on KZbin. The guy knows his stuff. No tube bender all mandrel bent pipe and tig welded. High end vehicles and jobs but he will show you alot of what you are looking for. The last video I watched he was showing how muffler location placement changes sound.

it also maters how far the tip sticks out ! i pulled mine out so they line up with the end of my Bumper so the Noise can get out without getting into the bumper and get muffled

All those straight exhaust sound raspy as all get out. Put some glasspacks on to cut out the high frequencies. Anyway a larger tip will sound deeper in tonality.

For clean deep tone, go with flowmaster flow fx in the mid and rear muffler delete in to 4.5 inch tips

Vibrant bottle mid and vibrant ultra quiets in the rear to whatever tips you like around 4 inches sounds pretty good. It might cost as much as a full cheapo system, but I think it sounds solid and better than most cheap systems. If you really want get more volume, resonated test pipes as well.

I believe all street vehicles need some sort of muffler as clapping sounds ragged out. Resonators are different..remove them. IMO.

​@ifunny2725 most honestly do, however I will still have to disagree partially. My 1974 Nova was true dual 2.5" flowmaster exhaust with long tube headers and it sounded very good. I think what makes the trucks sound like shit is because of the routing of the exhaust on true dual. Plus stock manifolds sucks ass and usually always make it sound terrible without longtubes

I think the reason why here is because these guys don't understand how exhaust pulses work with crossovers like an x-pipe, or h-pipe. They just hear the usual, "go true dual for the most aggressive sound." This place has told multiple customers that without explaining the differences between duals, x-pipes, and h-pipes. True duals usually sound clapped out

cool if they like it and hey if they live in the countryside, good for them. IMO It needs a crossover pipe and some muffler. No sound engineering at all makes it sound way too raspy. An exhaust like that would be pulled from the street in minutes over here.
