We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzbin.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

i bought a ue mini boom 2yrs ago based on your recommendation and have been quite happy with it.. i use it for multitasking all the time to listen to podcasts in the shower or while doing mind numbing chores around the house like dishes,laundry, sweeping, cooking, washing the car etc...

I've had my UE Boom2 for a while now and i wouldn't used it hooked up to the power. I often take it to parties (whether it be inside or outside) and it performs great, it's really loud and the battery lasts an impressive amount of time! Plus when it gets dirty i can just wash it in the sink and its been dropped so much! It's incredibly durable and I honestly don't think i could find a better speaker for its target market. I also use it in my room and only have to charge it once a week or less (a couple of hours of listening a day) to keep it topped up. Amazing speaker in my opinion.

I got an Anker SoundCore for just under 50. It's sound is amazing, and the battery last for about 12 hrs at full blast. Though it does say to not get it wet.

I have the EU Boom 2 (the medium $200 one) and I l9ve it. It's compact and comes in a bunch if really cute colors. I like mine so much that I bought one for my sister in law for Christmas.

If I'm streaming music onto the wonderboom through Spotify or KZbin and hit the built in skip button on the top of the speaker, will it still skip onto the next song? Or does the skip function only work if you're playing downloaded music from your phone?

Strideo1 you can buy two and link them in stereo mode with the app. I got the Roll 2 for $55 recently when Amazon and Bestbuy were having a crazy sale (it was BB's deal of the day, and Amazon dropped from their $72 sale price to match BB). For that price, buy 2 seems quite reasonable, although unnecessary for me.

Hi, is it possible to switch of those loud beeps when the device is switched on/off (and all other beeps)? I have to go outside to turn that damn thing off/on. It wakes my child any time with the loud noise. Anobody who have an infant know how hard it is to make a 9 months old sleep only to have loud gurgling noise to wake him/her 5 minutes later.

Well my Wonderboom sound weird because the sound sort of "crackles" and "rasping" (I don't know how to say it in English) like someone was shaking a package of rice on top of the music. Specielly on loud and "rock-y" parts with a lot of hi-hat, but really on softer parts too sometimes. That can't be right. But if that package of rice was just removed I'm sure it would sound great. Now I'd really appreciate if someone could tell me what the hell is wrong with my copy?

Meh. I'm not all that big on those mini bluetooth speakers. They might be good for a beach party or something, but when I'm at home I'd much rather use my full-grown stereo. They might be less portable, but they're set up where I use them the most and they have sound quality and frequency response curves that those 40mm drivers could only dream of. Also, some of my music actually sounds better when listened to in stereo instead of mono, imagine that!

I know of the UE Mega Boom, but I've never had an opportunity to test one, not even in an electronics market much less at my leisure. Still, for the same 200€ I'd have to pay for one of those I bought a pair of used Canton CT 800 a few years ago. Converted and corrected to inflation, they'd have been worth around 1000€ current money when new, and they still sound damn good, despite being older than an average porn actress these days. The current equivalent in their lineup would be the Canton Ergo 670 DC. The CT 800 give me a frequency response that's loud and clear down to about 50Hz and that's all I could ever ask for in an apartment. No need to piss off my neighbors with a subwoofer. I rather doubt that the mega boom can get anywhere close to the sound these put out (or anywhere near as loud if I feel like cranking it up), though I'd certainly be interested to make a direct comparison if the chance ever comes up.

Well, obviously a bigger, pricier stereo speakers will have better quality. That's why they are called "portable". It's made to be lightweight and small. Good luck bringing your huge stereo speaker to the bathroom everytime you want to listen to some music taking a shit. haha

I'm not sure why I'd want musical accompanyment while shitting, but okay. I already have the Aftershockz Bluez 2 though for music without something in or on my ears taking away my situational awareness and it has the advantage of being good for jogging and biking as well. The only thing it can't do is a beach party.

I have 2 UE booms. they're awesome but the batteries are temprimental as fuck. They'll either not charge properly or not at all and the battery drains quickly on them. But the sound is excellent

Toby Tarrant JBL is great but they just don't have the durability I'd want. Plus i think the UE Boom2 sounds better than the JBL Pulse 2, I compared my UE and a friend's pulse so I can't say what condition it was in but I do believe that the intended use of UE speakers and JBL are slightly different.

daviessa91 I picked up a Philips one for £16 just the other day. Partially because the speaker on my brand new phone is temperamental but also because I don't like where it's located (on the bottom) which is where/how I often hold my phone/keep it upright and have done so for many years. It doesn't matter if the speaker works or not when you can't hear it anyway because your finger or thumb is covering it.... There's also no way I'd spend anywhere close to £100 for a tiny speaker when something much cheaper does the same bloody job. I'm no music aficionado, I just need sound to come out of it.

Pedro Z Good for you pal, however I and probably millions of others have no interest in spending anywhere near that much for a single small/portable speaker. I for one don't need what I'm listening to (not music) to sound amazing I just need to be able to hear it, a £16 speaker does that just fine. You have to realise that lots of people also don't have that kind of money to spend either, £€$100 to many people is quite a lot, when to others it's an insignificant amount.
