For that flat ribbon cable they had an issue removing and ripped. JUST PUSH DOWN on the silver panel that they incorrectly pulled and bent backwards in the video. That silver panel over the flat ribbon works like a button. DO NOT PULL OR BEND IT! I repair these all the time.

@atamiss32598 жыл бұрын
Nah not as long as you do not pull it up all the way. As it acts as an anchor for the cable to make it connect and stay put. As long as you do not rip it off you should be able to push/bend it back down to create pressure.

AT first i was annoyed that the xbox one was so much larger than the ps4 yet it was technologically slower and still had a PSU brick. Now that ive seen them both taken apart im glad the ONE is larger. This means better air flow, better heat dissipation, easier to take apart, and all the components aren't crammed together.
@JudaZuk_9 жыл бұрын
***** - smaller fan, is always worse .. Smaller fan has to spin more revolutions to push same amount of air then a bigger fan has to do... That will make it louder, and the ball barings wear out faster. Bigger fan equals more cooling, + less noice = last longer Craming the PSU right next to the cooling for the CPU is not really a good idea. Sure it can work, but you are adding heat right next to the thing you are trying to cool down for no good reasone except "design"

Kinda irrelevant to a tear down of a PS4, wasn't difficult. One thing to consider is that manufacturers/designers want devices rigid and strong so it doesn't snap or break easily. And also so that little kids with screw drivers don't mess it up by disassembling it.

Hey. I disassembled my PS4 when I accidentally dropped it when carrying it to a different room. Since my warranty had been expired, Sony couldn't have fixed it. Even if I had the warranty, dropping it by accident couldn't resolve the issue. So I tried it the old-fashioned way. Disassembling the PS4 and self-repairing it myself. Before the disassemble, the PS4 worked expect for the Optical Drive. So I disassembled all the way to the fan. I cleaned the fan and all the dust that had been surrounded. I replaced the Silver Thermal Paste I had that was originally attached to the Motherboard. I put everything back into place, including the fixed Optical Drive. I turned it on... 'Red Light of Death' happened. I don't understand. What?! I put every single screw back in, every single part and it still couldn't turn on. If I plug my PS4 back in, the blue light with turn on and then eventually gas out. That's my 'repair' story.

@ToastyMozart11 жыл бұрын
Both have essentially identical specs besides the PS4 being clocked very slightly higher and using 8GiB of shared GDDR5 as opposed to XB1's DDR3. To simplify, GDDR5: Higher speed, worse latency, DDR3: Lower speed, better latency. Think of Latency as acceleration on a car).
@Aronnax77711 жыл бұрын
I know what latency is -_- i just wanted them to talk more about performance and hardware differences rather than reading about it, also i just had a passing interest in the hardware in both consoles since people are freaking out about them. I'm a PC gamer and programmer i prefer using my upgradable rig with: 32 GB of DDR3 RAM, an Eight core 3.7GHz AMD FX Black Edition Processor, an ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 Motherboard, and a Double D ATI 7970 HD Graphics Card made by XFX; as apposed to console gaming.
