Adam On Your Hammer It Totally Looks More Like A Bear Not A Lion... Lions Don't Have Such Round Ears Or Noses Like That, Plus The Head Shape Is All Wrong For A Lion..
@MuchProps8 күн бұрын
Thank you so much, Adam, and the Tested crew for this video. I am humbled and filled with joy to see Adam unboxing everything. I have a build video of how I made it on my channel and to affirm everyone in the comments, it is in fact, a bear. It references the teddy bear that Adam talks about in his book. The custom book says Savage in viking runes (if used as an alphabet). And the top has the title of his book written in runes as well as an image of Adam putting on the helmet of mine that he owns in his collection. Tested, keep doing what you do, inspiring creativity. 😁👊

Runes are always a neat touch, especially when people put in effort to make them mean something. I don't want to be too much of that guy, but I developed an interest in Futhark runes in high school - not enough to be anywhere close to an expert, but enough that I think I can provide some interesting details about it. First being that Elder Futhark, the version of runes you and most everyone else in pop culture uses, actually predates the viking age. The Viking age more closely aligns with Younger Futhark. Second being that Futhark is actually a phonetic alphabet. So they're written according to how the word sounds. So, "Savage" when spelled in runes literally would read more like "Sava-ghee." It's been a long while and I never got super deep into learning the transliteration rules, but I'd reckon something like "Savadz" would be close. Again, don't want to come off as too pedantic, I just think it's neat and I enjoy whenever runes are used and I can use the opportunity to stretch an old interest of mine. It's not all the time I get to share this information, let alone with the person who made the thing.

it is an extension that snaps on the end with the PC connector- it takes a few batteries and one places a flashcube on the end. Yeah a flash. The camera strap is also used for measuring distances to the subject for close up photography- note the beads embedded in the cord.

I don’t ever watch unboxing videos because I find them profoundly uninteresting, but there is an exception to most rules, and Adam Savage is that exception in this case. Here’s what I love about watching Adam opening things: One of the most fun things about being a maker who is examining any object is the pure joy that comes from gaining a window into another person’s thought process. Even when he doesn’t vocalize it, you can always feel it when Adam is doing this. You can tell that, at all times, he is wondering and working out what the person or people who made the thing in his hands must have been considering as they made it. And I think that’s just a lovely experience.

@Feynt8 күн бұрын
I'm reasonably certain the Minox camera itself is entirely mechanical and doesn't require a battery to function. The flash module is the slip on component which does require the battery to spark the flash cubes you would attach on the end. The circular bit on the end cap with the + shaped hole is what you would plug the flash cube into. Each picture taken would also mechanically spin the cube 90 degrees to allow a fresh side of the cube to go off for the next picture.
