This was amazing as a child to watch and as an adult I work at a 3D printing company. It made a replica of this out of aluminum and it was amazing. So many tiny part and screws and everything is fully articulated. Now I am making one out of printed carbon fiber. Loved watching you recreate these pieces.

Some people hate on Robocop 2 but I still love it, all these years later. Robocain is truly the star of the show. I still remember how nightmare-inducing this badass was, having viewed the film as a child. I'll often launch the movie on Amazon Prime and skip to the scenes wherein Robocain is featured. The stop-motion work still holds up so well. What you're doing here is beyond great... a fully poseable Robocain is a true feat to achieve!

Cain always scared the hell out of me. I was 8 or 9 years old when RC2 came out and the thought of this murderous alien-Like robot piloted by the brain/soul of a drug crazed madman was downright terrifying! As an adult I've always thought it was one of the coolest and most creative villains. I was SHOCKED when I discovered that you and many other prop fans were also big fans. They don't make em like Cain anymore! And hell, they didn't really back then either. He's a class of villain all his own.
@Zoso148922 жыл бұрын
I could never get on board with Cain. I dont know what it was about him but I didn't much like him but for some reason I've always been terrified of ED-209. It makes no sense, but even looking at a photo of him in my mid 30s I still have a thrill of fear. A robot that could be defeated by a staircase scares me. My mind is odd!

I share Adam's opinion that RoboCain is one of the best movie robots ever made, so since January I'm doing something more or less similar: recreating it in 3D. Its shapes are so complex and diverse that perhaps studying the scenes from the movie, frame by frame, took even more time than the modeling itself.

I could write a book about Robocop 2, pop culture and all the mass media frenzy going on in 1990, the Wikipedia article on Robocop 2 cover's a good part of it. The short version is, Violence in comic books/movies and new gen video games had everyone in a panic. There was also the writers guild stike and using comic book writers to step in. Overall I think it was a great movie, that maybe went to far for the main stream at the time. (But is mild by todays standards) Several people also were very critical of the over arching Anti Corporate/Government message, controversial then, pretty much commonplace now.

I think you need an extra hand, a working hand, to hold the object you're working on so you don't have to worry about it moving on you. Love the work. Note to self. "120 thou" is apparently 3 mm. I appreciate those reference points greatly. :) Reminds me of how I remember that 144 km/hr is roughly 88.8 miles/hr. Yes, I know it is closer to 142.91 km/hr, but that's how I remember it.
