It funny that when Greg speaks, Norms mouth is also animated. I guess its based on headset microphone interpretation? I wonder how they going to fix that?

Great job showing the multiple views Norm. Made sense all the way through. Very exciting possibilities for so many table top games and ar glasses that may be able to take advantage of this to some degree.

It would be fantastic, either DMing or playing as a member of the party. User/player avatar designs could precisely match their minis on the table. Player gestures might be copied in real-time by their tabletop minis! The DM could make the "volume" space match the map setting on the tabletop. Sound effects could be localized precisely in the game space. Monsters could fly in from the volume and down onto the board. And I don't know if this particular setup allows for it, but if the users/players could opt to play via their own minis' viewpoints on the tabletop... The potential for fun here is absolutely wild. Can't wait to try it!

this looks pretty great, it was however a bit weird seeing the guy in front of norm speak and see norm's VR avatar mouth move as if he was speaking, was the only thing I saw that made it clear this was a demo
@phunkaeg3 жыл бұрын
all that is happening there is that Gregs voice is being picked up on Norms microphone, and that's being translated into mouth movements. It's just an audio trigger because they're sitting next to each other in the same physical space, nothing to do with it being a demo.
@MaraldBes2 жыл бұрын
yeah noticed that avatar mouth too. Maybe an audio gate on audio detect in the lipsync code would do the trick. With a slow-release or something. Should be straightforward for the Unity team or Oculus/meta to implement in the SDK. But the rest is just excellent stuff, can't wait to try or implement it in my own projects. The seamless switching of controllers and hands looks awesome.

I would love to see a game someday based off of Stargate. You would start out by dialing the location to a world and then physically go through the Stargate portal and then you have a mission to complete wherever you end up. Whether it be eliminating threats or helping locals or finding resources. Just being able to walk through the Stargate and then appear in infinite other worlds based on what you dial would be amazing, once you complete that task maybe you gain a technology or ability and are giving a hint as to what coordinates to dial up next..... Hopefully someday.

Really wanted something like this for deck builders, easy shuffle at a press of a button would speed up the game tremendously. Then we would just play table top simulator at that point. But the feel of the cards and slapping down adds to the experience. Biggest thing is my friends love to see my face contort and react to the situation. We'd have to have a hologram projector over face covered VR.

I am surprised that Oculus manages to get this level of hand tracking in real time. There is still Leap Motion and the other Ultra Leap products, and I do feel like they are the best and most robust option out yet. Still waiting on a Tested video on Project Northstar Perhaps having a mounted camera that is also part of the scene and giving you MR and AR, as sort of s fourth participant. Essentially for participants with a flat screen or video production.
@chris-hayes3 жыл бұрын
