I fabricated those claws for the film. Pete Gerard designed them and built the functioning set. I was hired to make 7 sets of metal and dozens of sets of rubber stunt versions. Fun fact, I did that work at night and on weekends because during the day I was working at SVSI on the Gotham zoo miniature.

I got to go by the studio when I was dropping off a few sets of claws and Bob Ringwood the costume designer was very gracious and showed me around . He pulled out the Joker costume from the 89 film and I just about had a heart attack.

I wish Adam would start a series of Video game prop builds. There's an embarrassment of creative riches there that would challenge and entertain him. From Portal guns, Hidden blades, Dragonborn Helmets and so, so much more.

"Batman Returns" was the first one I remember watching as a kid and it's still my favorite of the entire series. "The Dark Knight" is a very close 2nd.

Sculpted only by Jose F. Steve sculpted a version prior to this one and production felt that version of the updated 89 was to scary looking (it wasn't scary it was just an updated 89) so Jose F was given the task of the cowl after he finished mastering the catwoman as well as some of the penguin

I've long preferred the Batman Returns torso sculpt/armor over many of the others until Nolan's first suit rolled out. I rather prefer that one over the others that were used in the following films, go figure.
