Those self assembling robots are INCREDIBLE. Fuck, they already work so well. Give them inductive charging and a pad in the room to charge on after tasks, perhaps with some nice high energy density batteries and you have unbelievably useful helper robots.

"microbots!" from big hero 6 is really good, the third presentation bot is pretty close to that.

Lamp Ray robot reminds me of Terminator Salvation's eel-shaped aquatic Terminators. The Modular Robot is like a precursor to Transformers' Cybertronian DNA which can combine and transform into other objects like in the movie Transformers 4 : Age of Extinction. All it needs to do now is make 1) lots of them, 2) make them smaller, & 3) more complex programming for more shapes, movements, and functions.

Im planning on going to school for B.S. Comp. Engineering Tech, I hope that biorobotics have some room for me in the future. I love mechanics but I feel like engineering and coding will take me farther, which would help me understand the underlaying process/functions of biomechanics.

Each block underneath of this robot could be equipped with a propeller to have a fast synchronized smooth movement in water.

1GHz is pretty hefty in terms of processor beefyness. many small robotics and sensors can be utilized from 1-20Mhz processors nowadays.

The last one reminds me of those nanobots in Transformers, where the panther robot spits out those balls which expand to insectiods and then transform themselfs to one big infiltration robot.

the logical follow up to BEAM robots....the challenge is to develop a BEAM Base that exactly follows commands like a well trained dog.... there have benn "wild beam bots" and tame digital bots but no tamed beam controlled by a digital operator.

Don't want to sound rude or anything. But I believe I saw many of bots like these, watching Discovery Channel some considerable amount of years ago..Still cool, though.. But, for me, it feels like the time passed and we're still at the same place.

the guy who is asking most of of the questions probably has an ulterior motive than just learning. his questions are very technical.. i dont feel like explaining myself further but he is probably working for some nations government agency as a contractor. this is a theory btw :3 but it could be true!!!
