Testimony of sexual violence in the occupied territories: Russian soldiers do mass rape in Ukraine

The Council of Europe will step up assistance to victims of sexual violence as a result of Russia's war in Ukraine. This was stated by the secretary general of the organization Marija Pejčinović Burić. The statement was made on the eve of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Russia is going for the reclamation of the the lands Russia had from the 1700's through 1917, which is the Novorossiya/Donbas region, including Crimea, which is modestly figured to be from the south bank of Kherson to near Kharkiv. That Ukraine region is the Kievan Rus region (which also goes into Russia, it's a historical region), and Russia is full stop opposed to NATO being in that Kievan Rus historical land. Your perspective is that of a fearmonger/warmonger. The healthy perspective is developing constructive relations with compromise as reasonable enough (different opinions on that I realize) with the big Dog in the region which is Russia. I want women to know that it's not their shame, it's the shame of the men who have done this. They have nothing to be ashamed of; instead, it's the evil ones who use their power to abuse that are to blame. At the same time, even though they aren't the majority of victims, I want men to feel they aren't to blame either if they are raped. I hope they are able to find the courage to tell what happened and get help -- and I hope that people believe them and help them, because there are still many people who believe men can't be raped or it's their fault because they weren't "strong enough" to fight back.
