My dad built custom cars - beautiful work. After his stroke, he started customizing model cars. And he would put them in cases like those when he was done with them. When he died, his living room was LOADED with model cars in cases, almost up to the ceiling, against two walls, and a couple stacks thick. It's cool that he something he enjoyed doing, to keep him occupied and happy.

Glad your dog is okay. We lost our 15 year old Jack Russell to a paralysis tick and we were devastated. Great video. I’m into miniatures and have been slowly building up my craft supplies over the last 4 months. I even have quite a few similar things to what you presented today. And after watching quite a few of your videos I’ve made a list of what I want to get.

Man, I feel you. When my dog straight out started vomiting blood like crazy (50kg Labrador, wasn't a small amount of blood), I felt both super scared for him, but half of me had blood boiling to find out who the actual f... was putting poison outside. Luckily he pulled through, had him a few more years up until he was 11 and started developing tumors that due to his age the vet said he couldn't even survive the procedure. It was a sad day. It's been maybe 8-9 years since then, and I still miss that dog dearly, can't get myself to get another. That one was special. Glad to know yours is still alive and kicking, that's great.

I lost my 19-year-old cat to a brain tumor a year ago (despite getting him the most advanced stereotactic radiation therapy available at a specialist practice) and it still feels like it was yesterday. I'm grateful that I had as much time with him as I did, but one does get attached.

Thanks. I have been enjoying these tool and accessory reviews. Another use for the small metal basins; if I need to add just one small decal toan HO train car I can put just a little water in one to soften the decal. That way I don't have to waste more of distilled water.

As for the Balls that you use to help mix your paint, I talked with the owner of Mission Model Paints and what puts in his line of Paints is a Glass Bead to help mix the Paints. I found some at Walmart in the Craft Department for making Necklace and use them in my Vallejo Paints. I normally add 2 or 3 of them to make sure the paint mixed. With Vallejo Paints being Water based, when the Paint is used up you wash them with Water and use them again. Glad to hear you're Dog is doing OK, being a Cat owner I have gone through my shares of Worry about them as well.

It's worth noting: That plastic putty is just for hairline cracks and seams! It'll shrink as it cures, so anything larger will take several passes to smooth out. In those cases, it's better to reach for the milliput. Maybe even Green Stuff if it's a really big gap.

I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and looked at those bead stands (as you had mentioned them before) but wasn't sure the size that worked best. Good info to know. That circuit vice will definitely come in handy as I'm always trying to figure out how I'm going to hold and paint odd pieces. Might be able to use it to hold old cds to paint for bases. 👍

You know what's miles better for mixing your paints? Glass boiling balls (stones). glass is 100% non reactive and you get 1000 of the little buggers for 12-14 bucks. Your ball are roughly 0.04 each. The glass beads are 0.014 each. I got one pack and it will last me my whole life. Just used a few of them to make wizard orbs for a dnd wizard I 3d printed.

You should test the scientific magnetic mixer plates for paint. I use a $20 cheap one and it works great. It uses the little “pill” magnets (1”). I reuse the same 10 magnets and clean them off with 99% alcohol. I use a little telescoping magnetic parts grabber to retrieve them from the paint bottle after mixing. It might get expensive to buy pill magnets for 100+ bottles.

That's a clever idea. I remember visiting my dad at his work (chemist at Bell Labs) when I was a kid, and I'd play around with a beaker (of water), stir bar, and stir plate. Maybe a bit of dry ice, too... for the "mad scientist" effect, but I digress. Your trick would indeed mix the paint very thoroughly.

I went through your list of product links several times and I couldn't find one for the airtight clear plastic box that you recommended for acrylic paints (keep them from hastening their demise)...
@InvisibleAvenger Жыл бұрын
Based on the hinged clips it is either a Sistema brand container or a Sistema copycat container. I know Wal-Mart stocks some Sistema products in store if you want to see some in person. Alternatively, for a similar style container I would recommend Lock & Lock brand products, I've used them for food storage for several years and they work well. Lock & Lock's lid seal is silicone, I'm not sure about Sistema's lid seal but I would assume it is silicone as well.
