I got my husband something like the Desk Call just so he can have his phone in a neat place on the desk when he’s on conference calls and typing on his laptop at the same time. The desk he’s using here at home is obviously much smaller than the cubicle he had at his old office. Since his company went fully WFH, he was able to rescue two monitors too (before the office was permanently closed) rather than have them just be abandoned or junked even though they are still perfectly good. As for that Pod thing, I have a power bank thing the size of a “fun size” candy bar that’ll charge my iPhone XR at least twice before needing recharging. It’s worth it to have a small zipped case that carries my ear buds and a charging cord.

I have a similar product to the Bell and Howl spin power. Yeah, the spin sucks, but I like being able to charge/ plug in multiple things that I need (rechargeable batteries, tablet, phone, camera, lamp, clock, etc) and plug in an air freshener on my nightstand. Most of the wall outlets in my small room are covered by my bed, desk, and cabinet so it's super convenient to have a ton of plugs at an arm's reach. Also, I can swivel the cords that I keep in all the time (clock, lamp, phone charger) just behind the nightstand so my cats don't chew them and get hurt 😸. 9/10 would recommend.

@allureofgravity3 жыл бұрын
Although I’m completely sure your assessment of the big power bank being all-around better is accurate, I just wanted to mention that the phone battery % is not linear. Each percent is not equivalent. Phone manufacturers manipulate the displayed percentage so that there is more or less actual battery at certain percentages, so that the user experience is more “friendly” in different circumstances. For example, when some phones are in the 20% range, there is actually more battery left than simply 1/5th of the total. Also phones are often programmed to stay at 100% longer than they’re actually at 100%. With this in mind, to get to 29%, may have required more power to get to than the percentage itself would make it seem. Maybe a better test would be to have the phone at 50%, and then go from there, for both tests, so all parameters are controlled and they’re working under the same conditions. Anyway, great stuff, just wanted to put this out there in case it helps!

The whole point of the Power Pod is to have it always handy on your keychain, in case of an emergency where you don't have any other source of power, so you can get a quick boost to get access to a map, call emergency services, use the flashlight, etc. It's not supposed to be a competitor to a 25k mAh battery bank, because it's not in the same category of products.

Power Pod seems like it would be useful for those instances where you don't want to tote around a big power bank (or you forgot it) and you can just charge it and leave it on your keys for emergencies. Like, it's got enough juice to get you a phone call home, and that's about it. It might be decent for peace of mind for like $5 but I wouldn't pay much more than that.
