Barb, another excellent video! You are a boon to the hobby! The cutting mat has a set over white and over black. The hex groupings are a brilliant implementation of a color wheel (kinda color wheel for dummies) and I love it! The white hexes on the mat indicate base or shade color, mid tone or primary, and highlight with three for or five layers/grades - in fact, you could keep rotating the color sheet to achieve several gradients of highlight ir shadow - with shifts on the spectrum when the hexs are not aligned - for perhaps a dozen or more subtle changes from dark to light. Again, a brilliant tool for painters of anything, really! Thanks for reviewing it! 👍🎅👍

I like your choice of topics for this video - some interesting “tools” to assist in our model builds. The paint cards and Color picker aids would definitely be useful along with the runner clips. I was really impressed at how effective the paint removal wipes were without any noticeable damage to the surface. Definitely worth investing in!

Color test cards are a great idea, the ring keeps them organized. Color picker helps when picking accent colors. Another great video.

Those color selectors are amazing. The columns decide if you want, 2, 3, or 4 colors. The rows decide how analagous or contrasted you want the color scheme. The darker slate are the saturated colors, made for gundams, and the lighter ones are for dioramas and figures. You can also rotate the slates until you find a color combo you like. Its a great tool!

I have a modeling airbrush problem… I have the brush, compressor, hose, paint, thinner, retarder, enhancer, booth, models… all the stuff. My problem is I spend all my time watching these videos learning how to use the stuff and at the end of the day I run out of time to actually do any painting. Now I have hundreds of spoons which I have no use for as I order the pre premiered test cards

When I worked as a colour matcher for an automotive company, we also used something similar for the spray out card. We also had grey cards which would basically replicate spraying over a grey primer, and we would stick a little black and white checker sticker on it. That way you could have a feeling of what a colour would look like over a standard grey primer, and the black/white sticker would give you a good indicator on the opacity/coverage of a colour, depending on how many coats you would do.

I love the color picker mat. It seems like the patterns are designed to choose between values like, complimentary colors, monochromatic, vibrancy, etc… This is not unlike some color pickers I’ve seen in professional art stores. Great video.

I use wooden skewers {point cut off with a cork on} and have them sticking out of the top of draws. Then the sprues hang from them at any height you want. Works a treat.

I swear I've spent waaaay more money getting into this hobby than I should have thanks to watching your guides and unboxings, but I dont regret it at all! if at all possible, when you have some time or need a new idea, could you go into details on how different paint types (acrylics/enamels/etc) effect each other on kits? Like which paints can be layered on top of one another, which thinners dont like to play nice with a paint other than its own, and if using 2 or more types of paint on one kit, what order you would recommend using them in? I use one of those Plano brand boxes, like the tackle box kind of thing that has dividers in it. I label those with masking tape to the letter on the runner and clip everything out into that compartment. Much easier that way.
