Incredibly jealous of the haul! Picked up a few new crab pots to try and put them to use before the season closure, but my 46 year old GlasPly had other plans 😢 Just need to get her going again for blackmouth!

In California, a hoop net is considered abandoned if it is not serviced after 2 hours of placing in the water. There are two types of hoop nets, the one used in the video is type B hoop net. The type A has no pillars. You can’t leave hoop nets overnight in the water. It’s considered abandoned and anybody can pick it up after 2 hours of leaving in the water.

This is in Washington State, it's legal to leave any pot in the water overnight or longer but you do need to mark you're name@address on the buoy.

I hope your tank you're putting the crab in has a recycling water pump otherwise you should not be putting those crab in water they will lose oxygen and die best to put in ice chest with some ice with a towel that allows the ice to melt off
