Sweet sporty I'm just seeing this video now. But I'm very impressed with the build. How about the build details. My first build was a early 60s xlch bottom , Andrews R5 cams ,70 over jugs,major worked over heads, Manley valves , guides,springs, s+s carb, Morris mag ignition ... And a kicker!! Front was a smith and fetrow 9 over girder IT WAS BRUTAL ON THE STREET PLUS IT WAS A HARDTAIL I WASTED LOTS OF PEOPLE STOPLIGHT TO STOPLIGHT.

Smith and Fetrow was in my book the best girder built. I have a very old one built with hexagonal stock.

ironheads arent for girls. Have you ever kick started one?
I’m curious what their compression is at and fuel being used. I don’t expect build details as it’s 7 years old and usually racer’s aren’t keen on sharing their secrets but it sounds decent.
@123HarleysOnly Жыл бұрын
It had 12:1 compression ran on VP C-12 Racing fuel. It was a starter bike I build for a friend and half way through the build he wanted to go Jap so I bought the bike from him and added to my other three Drag bikes I owned. Now it is being Raced over in Norway. As I said it was a starter bike for someone that wanted to start racing, but it was to small for me so I sold it. The guy that bought it in Norway is having a Blast with it!

That is a fresh 89 ci stroker With big "R" valves in it with a set of custom cams made by Jim Leineweber. The bike is set up for 1/8 mile. The very first pass it ran a 6.20 Changed the carb from an old B S&S to a S&S E. Now it runs between 5.90 & 6.00 Not to bad for a bike that needs a valve job! LMAO

Yes Dr. I agree the crankshaft valves do need replacement or adjustment. Perhaps the camshaft capacitor isn't reading full advance too.

What is the fascination with that old Harley chopper junk? Its underpowered, rides like a lumber wagon , handle like shit etc?
@chopperchopster3 жыл бұрын
hey dummy thats a drag bike . Choppers arent junk regardless. You dont like? Dont build one. Me? I have imports and HD. I simply like different rides at different times. Choppers are just as much fun as a sport bike . LOL I bet you couldnt even start my panheads. Magneto ignition and kick only. Modern tech is great and all but its got no soul. No connection to the rider. It just starts and goes. I like adjusting pushrods. I like tinkering with my sleds. Of course my daily ride is an 09 Dyna. just starts and goes. But the old stuff is still fun. Kinda like having a Model T Ford! Not to mention that NOBODY stops and checks out the new modern car or bike as it rolls by. If I pull up on my pan in a lot full of new stuff lots of people walk over to see it. Hell They walk over to see my 71 Honda CB750 FOUR SOHC chopper too. Old stuff is just cool because it was built by CRAFTSMAN not robots. new cars suck . The car makers wow you with all this digital tech crap. Im good. Prefer a 57 Chevy Belaire!
