People often think there is a simple problem that can be fixed by a novice. If you do not have an underlying understanding of the principles behind fridge technology I suggest that you get someone in who does or alternatively buy in a replacement.

Hi JD, we have a F-580 Defy unit. The unit is short cycling and Henk / Danny at Defy cannot assist me a repair manual. Or at least a NTC chart, can you help by any chance? Regards, Troy

Hi, my DEFY F-600LM (14yrs old) freezer not working well… only freezers to maximum -2degC?… I stripped the defrost element out and measured 179 ohms on defrost element?… is that a decent reading?…. I’ve replaced the compressor with a commercial 1/4HP unit…but still doesn’t cool very well?… now stripping defrost system…but load shedding here?… any solutions or light you could shed on the problem?

Before changing any components you have to conduct tests. If you are not able to conduct the test yourself, I do free quotes in my workshop.

whats the takeaway? so after cutting capillary, u closed it back? smelled the gas? now u have to fill the gas again?

To change a compressor you need to have an empty gas system. If you weld a system with gas in it, it will explode.
