I had a bad experience a couple of years ago with R600 freon. I fixed a new compressor into this fridge and it wont cool so i figured there was a clogged pipe. I removed the sucktiion valve and thought all the the remaining freon was jammed in the filter or something, so I went ahead and attempted to remove the discharge pipe but it wont budge ! I tried a couple more times and it refused to budge so I turned up the heat, and then what you know! Massive explosion went in my face and I got severe 2nd degree burns and my face and both my arms. Notice: this was when I was just training on my job and had zero experience. Im a professional now lol. But since then, I stayed the hell away from R600

Hi Johann, great video. I had a similar issue and it was resolved by copying what you did and replacing the temperature controller. My Waeco works great now! Only problem is that now there is no way to change the battery protection function on the fridge and the fridge shuts off when my battery drops below 12.3v. Is there a way to bypass this battery protection?
@JDNelRefrigeration12 күн бұрын
The battery protection that is part of the electronic control module for the compressor cannot be bypassed.

Hello. Have an electrolux/beam. But is has not the nut on the fan, just a tip. Is the shaft pressed on the plastic and metal fan?
@JDNelRefrigeration13 күн бұрын
Yes. In the factory they heat the centre bit of the fan blade up so that the hole expands, then it cools down around the shaft. It can be removed but you damage the blade in the process. If you have a spare blade then you dont mind sacrificing the old one.

Great job there my man. What temperature do you set on your thermostat or must i say level since the numbers on the dial are not temperatures
@JDNelRefrigeration17 күн бұрын
On the Ranco thermostat normally -18 degrees celcius on the cold plate gives you between +2 and +4 celcius on the fridge. On that one I calibrated it to a warmer temperature and a longer defrost cycle because of the big cold plate.

Hi Sir, When charging Refrigerator with r600 using needle valve charge, and knowing the backpressure is less than zero at the fully charged, Do you think that atmosphere pressure will press down the needle , and let the air goes inside the fridge if we didn’t but the cap on? Thanks

No, there is a spring in the valve that will always close it irrelevant of the outside pressure.

Could you tell me the average PSI when not running and a fridge is set/full? (a range is fine) Otherwise, great video.
@JDNelRefrigerationАй бұрын
On a fridge thats warm the pressure on the gas in the fridge will be exactly the same as the pressure as the gas cylinder outside the fridge. When the fridge starts running the suction pressure goes down & the high side pressure will go up. The longer the fridge runs, the lower the suction pressure gets. The highside pressure will reach maximum pressure shortly after the fridge starts up and as the fridge cools down that pressure will drop slightly. The pressure depends on what type of refrigerant or gas you use.

Do you think i need to replace the antena/cap of the magnetron? Badly need help😔
@JDNelRefrigerationАй бұрын
If your magnetron is the reason its not heating and you have to replace it with a new one, then leave the cap alone. First test until you find the fault.

Thanks, this is exactly what i was looking for. My Liebherr CUPsl 2721 fridge freezer is nearly 12 years old and wouldn't come on after running ok. One problem I believe was a thick ice build up on fridge evaporator rear wall, the compressor came on after being switched off all night & most of the ice had melted. Temperature dial is graduated 0 - 7. Found that compressor now runs continually on 7 (where I usually have it set; it may eventually go off after more than 24 hours), reducing to 6 compressor eventually switches off after many hours and fridge space is around 4 deg. C one third up from the bottom. I could try the settings you mention but I wonder if the compressor cooling output is a little weak. May I ask how long should a compressor last (I understand that nearly all compressors are made by the same company IIRC), at least for Europe? Also am I correct that these units should never need recharging with refridgerant since they are sealed units?
@JDNelRefrigeration2 ай бұрын
Behind your fridge is a black grid which is called a condensor, normally dust builds up on it. If you clean it properly you will immediatly get a 3 or 4 degree drop in temperature in your fridge. Never need recharging until a puncture developes.
@Martindyna2 ай бұрын
@@JDNelRefrigeration Thanks, I should have mentioned that I have already pulled the fridge out and cleaned the condenser grid. What I didn't mention is that I put some fresh food in the freezer that will take time to freeze so may be I need to be more patient (it has never been very powerful, I think the motor is only rated 100 Watts IIRC (if I remember correctly). Can you say how long a Compressor can be expected to last please? Many thanks from the UK.

@@JDNelRefrigeration Thanks for the information. My late Mother bought an Amana fridge freezer 40 years ago and it still works fine but of course this is exceptional. Last thing I did before it broke was to vacuum very fine dust. (Concrete dust). I know it's a bad idea. But instead of buying a new one I'd love to try and repair it myself.

I have "Johnson Controls P77AAW-9350" pressure switch installed on outdoor unit (condnsor) but i dont't know how to adjust it. kindly guide me @JDNelRefrigeration
@JDNelRefrigeration3 ай бұрын
The colder your fridge the lower the pressure. The warmer your fridge the higher the pressure. Different gasses work at different pressures. There are 2 ways to find out what pressure to adjust your pressure to, to make your fridge function optimal. 1. If you know what gas your fridge operates on, you can find the pressure and temperature equivilent online. 2. Bypass the pressure switch so that your compressor runs continuously , put a thermometer in your fridge and monitor the temperature. If you reach your desired temperature make a note of your gas pressure. Switch the compressor off. When your fridge has warmed up to the temperature that you want it to start up at make a note of the gas pressure. Now you have your 2 pressures to adjust your pressure switch.
