Testing a Muffler Delete - 2014 Mazda3

Hey everyone! Sorry its been a while between uploads i have been very busy so far this summer. I created this video a couple weeks back with my friends help. We unbolted the muffler to see how it sounds in comparison to some exhaust clips ive heard online (a muffler delete y-pipe replacement is a lot cheaper than aftermarket exhaust). I was very pleased with the sound and might get it professionally done soon.

I did a muffler delete on my 2011. It sounds great and deep, not too loud, and not raspy like with the resonator delete.

burning oil will have a bluish tint. Headgasket will be a big puff of white smoke. a little bit of steam thats just cuz the car is cold. water = full combustion which is good

So the reason it smokes and is a bit loud at start is normal. SkyActive engines will retard the timing slightly and dump extra gas in the engine in effort warm the motor more quickly for about 30 to 45 seconds. This is completely normal. Not oil smoke. Just extra fumes from the extra gas being added by the computer ot help get warm. This is a funtion of ALL Skyactive platforms. That is why it quiets down and stopped smoking.

I'm mad at how easily those nuts came off... Mine are *really* torqued on there. I can't take mine off with my 3/8 drive ratchet yet.

I did mine and sounds so damn good but crazy drone at 3000rpm. So I added a 14" resonator and it solved the drone, while keeping the tone.

@@reesemcneal Sorry man just saw this. NO. 2018. I removed the Cat, and muffler but added a small resonator and it sounds great. There's nothing to affect the ECU since the sensor is higher up passed the Cat.

it's either 10 or 14 mm I think, corksport releases full instructions on all their parts so the sizes are listed if you go to their instruction manuals for any performance exhaust on the mz3's

I didn't keep it detached, there a little bit of drone and the cops in my city have been cracking down on loud exhausts so i figured it was better to just keep it stock for now.
