I built a Wine Barrel Smoker and installed a (New Zealand made) Smokai Cold Smoke Generator on it. The Thickness of the Oak staves is a great insulator and I was able to Cold Smoke Salmon in a few hours to the proper temp. I also added an adjustable heating element in the Wine Barrel to Smoke Ribs and such. Casters on the bottom of the barrel makes it easy to roll around. Wish I could share pictures of it with y'all, but not sure how to do that. You'ld love it!

I haven't trolled for fish in ages. Years ago, i used to go camping up North. There was a bass boat we had at the camp near the pond our camp was on. We grab a rod and tackle some soft plastics some attractant. Then wed row out to deeper water and set the motor to like 2.5 to 3 miles per hour. Cast our lines in the water and cruise around the pond. Wed play classic rock music have a couple cold drinks and snacks and chill out. We would catch nice bass or catfish when trolling. Night fall came we brought the boat in an fished from the shore. 😊❤ Good memories i miss those times. Cold sodas chips good company classic rock plaing trolling our lures on the spinning rods near cover and structure. 😊😊❤

Cold smoking takes days😉 but the end result is super worth the wait

Nice work except for one thing. The entire point of cold smoking fish is to NOT cook it. Kind of defeats the purpose of cold smoking if you get it up to temp.

I brine in a special sauce that may or may not include BSB. I wouldn't want to smoke as long as you did though... I am totally happy with the Big Chief just as prescribed. Plenty of smoke and I can do a whole load in 3 hoursish. Just need to rotate the racks so the ones closest to the element don't overcook.

Secret lure? let me guess it's a 1 3/4 or 2" uv & glow pink squid hoochie soft spinner on 40lb mono with 1 or 2 2/0 Gamakatsu big river or octopus hoo44_ks & 3.5 Colorado blade, color of choice in front of 2 beads, im just guessing because that's my go to lure for years now lol btw I love those rainbow cookies from Safeway, that's my only grocery store within 75mi here in Nevada! what is a URB VS Tule? We got a 20 pounder that was not Chrome I did clean him and he was still nice and pink. Will smoke and can it! I think it will be great. I thought that if you get one close to the ocean it was considered a URB which is better than a TULE?
