I haven’t put too much thought into this, and I don’t completely know if this would work with the shield, but what if you replaced all the mirrors in a mirror maze with really good quality invisibility shields?

The big issue is relevant distance and obvious contact. In Mirror Mazes, it's actually quite easy to understand direction and position because Mirrors are relative to the person. That being said, it's very frequent in Mirror Mazes for people to not do the minor but instant calculations needed to not bump into a mirror. The mirror is sturdy. This thing? Very fragile and curved. Contact with it probably won't break it if framed well or built well, but it can lay fingerprints and/or ruin the curvature (even when framed). That being said, it still seems like there's room to work with and it can definitely add onto the confusion for those in a mirror maze.

I think the pattern of your shirt doesn’t matter but the color should match to the background. If you wore red-blue Stripes the stripes itself would be invisible but you would see a violet (red-blue mixed) blurred something.
@whengrapespop5728
@whengrapespop5728 3 жыл бұрын
@Chris Twid The color or lines on your shirt don’t matter - what matters is how wide your body is compared to the shield. If you have a big enough shield, you can hide a tank (I believe someone did this already). The vertical/horizontal effect is just the result of the curve of the shield, and vertical lines disappear only because they are stretched out and thin enough compared to the shield, while horizontal lines remain because they technically end up wider than the shield, making things “stretch out on themselves” and therefore not disappear.

@@laltanpuia2619 nope, they are lenses, and it's perfectly possible to make lenses behave differently on both sides... it's see-through from the back, as you can see in this video... (also, if it's a face mask, it's easy to leave 2 tiny holes right in front of your pupils, with an inversion lense, impossible to see from a small distance, only from upclose. I'm sure Lee will have already relayed this to you already but Unusual is by far my favourite series on the channel so far! I dig the little cutaways and origin stories, found footage, etc.. Keep'em coming! PS. The office is looking slick, don't scuff up them shiny floors!

This reminded me of what Jan Maccabees encountered. I'll link story sources at the end if needed. As closely she could approximate it was looking through saran wrap, distorted in a way that you can and cannot see at the same time. The whole encounter was disturbing, but more so bc the forest fell deafeningly quiet as it approached and moved through it. When a predator comes near animals instinctively fall silent, so they apparently considered the entity of danger.

Have you tried layering 2 sheets together, one horizontal and the other vertical to observe that effect? In theory it should completely camouflage anything behind it both vertical and/or horizontal when layered.

I feel like this would blur everything and you wouldn't be able to tell anything behind, so it would be more noticeable to see some almost homogeneous thing.

Would be great as room dividers in darker homes, simultaneously hiding things while letting light through. Like a hidden bed or office desk.

Depending on what you want to do with it, it does work with cameras since normally people don’t stare at a camera screen for that long. If you want to hide from a camera while staying in the same spot it doesn’t work but if you want to sneak inside somewhere with multiple cameras and with quick movement and good timing it can work to get to your objective.

If someone doesn't know what to look for they could easily miss someone hiding behind that, or even assume it's just a weird art decoration
