To those wondering why would someone need this tool, I gotcha. Here in Egypt, we have a traditional dish called "mahshi" or "stuffed" if you wanted the typical translation. It's basically vegetables that their middle/pulp is removed and then we stuff them with seasoned rice or seasoned ground meat. So when we remove their middle/pulp we use this tool because it makes the process much easier, and that's it ☺️.

Its used in the middle east to hollow zucchini and eggplants most commonly so we can stuff them with rice and meat and make mahashi. You can later use the scrubs to do zucchini bread omelet or potato spiral fries.

We use it in Egypt to get the fleshy fibers out of our zurcchini-like vegetable and out of eggplants to be able to stuff them with a mixture of rice and herbs - it's called 'mahshi'

We have one and it’s a must in my home😂😂 as an Egyptian we have this dish were we stuff zucchini with a mixture of rice and veggies so this tool is used to empty the inside of a zucchini so we can stuff it😂💜 we use the spiral insides with more veggies at the bottom of the pot as a base to protect the zucchini while cooking so they don’t stick

As a Lebanese person we use this for a dish named cousa. It's a zucchini stuffed with a mixture of rice and meat, then cooked. We use it to remove the inside of the zucchini and fill it with the mixture.

And then you can make fried zucchini noodles with the spiralled inside of the zucchini. It is low carb and delicious when you fry it in olive oil with some garlic, and it can be served with any kind of pasta sauce.

My mom would've given it a 10/10 because she makes zoodles alot of the time, If you don't know what zoodles are they're basically zucchini noodles. She makes them all the time and we love them as much as she loves them. This is definitely my next birthday present for her.

Here in the rural parts of the philippines, I see old people use it to make a side dish called "Achara" which is pickled unripe papaya, carrots and peppers. We pair it with fried or grilled meat. It's best with bbq in my experience. 🤤 You dont necessarily need the tool to make it since you can just grate the ingredients but I see kids having fun and curious when they see spiral-shaped veggies 🥰

Its not useless at all, my mom has been using it as long as i’ve been alive and i’ve been helping her make food with it, there’s a Middle Eastern food called Kousa where its hollowed out zucchini (we hollow out the zucchini with that thing you called useless) and stuff the zucchini with a beef and rice mixture and it has like a tomato broth and its really good

In my culture you would stuff veggies like zucchini and use that to empty the innards and replace it with rice It's really useful
