Testing: AK Interactive Real Colour Markers

Welcome to another video, here i'm testing and giving an overview of the new range of acrylic paint pens from the folks over at ‪@AKInteractiveOfficial‬ who asked if i would like to take a look at them and try them out. This video gives an overview of the pens, the way they work, how well the applicaiotn goes and my initial thoughts on using them.

I got some to try and mostly use the black for tank road wheels, etc. But after seeing this, I am getting the yellow to use on my Spanish Dragoons:)

I have been waiting for this one. I still cant get my head around this concept - colouring in minis 😂😂 The end results look great - the tank, with the added shaded and weathering, looked no different to when using paints. A great little product, but im old fashioned and love my brushes too much. Great little preview/review/tester. Thank you.

These have me interested. I travel for work at times and normally take some hobbying with me, I feel like taking some of these instead of paints would be a lot easier!

Mate I was quite taken back the first time I used it. The coverage is consistent and flows well. Doing armour and metalwork is now a massive timesaver 👍

Thank you for sharing this review with us. I've seen these pens advertised in several hobbyist magazines, but have been leery of purchasing them. I definitely see using them on gaming structures, especially for architectural detail work on the western buildings for Dead Man's Hand. A new tool to experiment with in the figure painting realm 🙂

Thumbs number 1.... hah!!! beat you number 2. They most certainly do look very interesting. I was in Hobbyshop not so long ago and notice a similar system that got me thinking (unsuitable for figures of course) and hey ho AK release these. Most interested indeed.

for those interested as well as the ak interactive set i also bought an "Arrtx" 30 colour set off amazon to see how those compare , i would say that the pens are near enough identical in performance and quality to the AK ones and as to painting small figures , i finished a 300 viking 10mm army over 3 days

@@NicGamz this happens so many times, i went to the effort of making sure all my Napoleonic units have the right savings etc, half the time the bases end up mixed up on the table as I'm rushing to set up... No one notices 😅

Yeah I would like to see some smaller tips as well, hopefully they are in the pipeline. They have another range called "Play" markers coming which looks smaller. Maybe they were trialing the system with these first 👍

So I found them a great help, especially for the weapons. Doing the spears and swords at the end took about 10 seconds a strip 😁

I can think of a few applications where these would speed things up so much!! I'm reporting you for cruelty to tanks though 😂

Once they've been applied, how long does it take to dry? If they are acrylic, I wonder if one can use a brush afterwards to push the pigments around before it dries.

It dries very quickly, by the time I had finished the right hand side of the tank the left was completely dry. You wouldn't have long 👍

How long do you think they would last or have any of the more used ones become unusable .

The ones I've been using are still going well, a couple of the tips aren't as pointy but as I'm not detailing with them it's not an issue for me 👍

Depends - if you mean text on miniatures, then no 👍 If you mean calligraphy then yes 😉

Would these be good for the epic napoleonics do you reckon or is that range of epics too fiddly for these?

I think they would be, certainly for the muskets, bayonets and crossbelts at the end 👍
