Testing Apres Gel X + Review

Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. In this weeks video I’m going to be testing the Apre Gel X system. I decided to switch over from Kiara Sky Gelly tips for 2 key reasons mentioned in today’s video. Apres offers a variety of fit for different nails beds (natural or sculpted) and because they offer refills on sizes so you don’t have to repurchase a whole case of tips if your low on one size. I definitely understand why they are the industry standard for gel extensions!

This video is so helpful! I’ve been experimenting with the full coverage gel tips too and I was STRUGGLING doing them on myself. But I tried it on a client and it was a lot easier.

Long coffin or longer only comes in sculpted because of the length & strength needed. The natural would be more easy to break if the were longer. I heard this from one of apres nail videos.

Are there any consequences to not using a basecoat? I've seen some people attach the gel extensions with basecoat -> extend gel but some people just go in with extend gel. Thoughts ?

This is my first time trying Apres but I have used the Kiara Sky Gelly tips numerous times on myself and clients which are almost exactly the same. I’ve never used base coat with either and haven’t ever had issues! The systems also don’t come with that step so I think it’s probably unnecessary. Hope that helped:)

How long does a set normally last you? I am waiting for my kit to show up

I’d say 3-4 weeks but they honestly could go longer. I just notice that since they’re softer than acrylic, if you have a straight edge like coffin or square shape, they definitely ware down and start to get rounded on the edges past 3 weeks. But I generally don’t get any lifting at all even at 4 weeks+. Hope that helps!

Yes! Absolutely love them because they allow me to focus my time mainly on nail art rather than shaping & filing.
