I am actually really liking the haircut. Looks very modern and edgy and suits your style so well! I feel like you could even get away with lighter hair with this haircut, would look spectacular xxxx

The coats are beautiful! I love the & Other Stories & the Jigsaw one. One of the reasons why I love fall/winter are the coats and sweaters! I can't wait to watch nxt video!

This has been my favourite out of the testing basics series! First of all every single coat you purchased is gorgeous, I like that there are different styles as well. What made it really special though is that you kind of explain to us viewers what you should look for in a wool coat, what makes it such an investment piece etc. ! I just thought that was very informative and pretty unique also. Another question about the ASOS camel coat you mentioned- I've had this ASOS wool camel coat with metal fastening in my cart (about 100 pounds?) and it looks so good in pictures also an ASOS insider was wearing it and it looked kind of fabulous on her so I thought why the hell not- but I think you were talking about that and you said it was awful so I'm pretty freaked now! Would you mind sharing why?

Thank you so much! Yesss that is the one I was talking about! The fabric gathered in a strange way at the bottoms and the shade of camel wasn't very nice - deffo didn't look like it did on the model! xxx

Your new hair looks lovely - the slightly fuller fringe really suits you! All of the coats you picked out are so beautiful, but I do think the Jigsaw coat and the MSGM coat really steal the show - who thought a floral coat could look so wearable?!

I love this series, and your blog so much! One day when I am rich I will be able to buy the beautiful items you feature. You've inspired me to check the wool content of my ever faithful Topshop coat I bought off eBay for £10 many years ago, and I'm pleased to see it's 69% wool - no wonder it still looks and feels pretty good. It's something I wouldn't have thought to look at before so thanks for the tip x

Hi Lizzy, poppers are used when the brand want it to look v minimal with no visible buttons when closed, but I agree it makes it look cheaper.

For very nice mid-price wool coats (below the 300 pound mark, and there are sales going on at the moment) with classic styles, I always head straight to Aritzia. I find their sizes run a bit small in coats so would recommend sizing up, and know that you can call up/ email and have them ship to the uk. This year I bought a mid-thigh length darker/warmer camel coat that is great quality, and flattering. Definitely heavier, warm, yet soft. Not affiliated or anything, just think it's a shop people tend to overlook.

Recently I've been finding some great vintage wool coats on eBay, I recently got a vintage m&s st michaels wool double breasted black coat for £6 and wear it to death! I also bought an 80% vintage wool long coat last year for a about £15. It's always a gamble with sizing but can always resell if need be!
@SA-sc3bt8 жыл бұрын
Ps. For vintage coats especially m&s - always size down !

I do this too, have bought so many great wool coats on ebay! Don't be afraid to ask for the shoulder and chest measurements from the seller - always do this and most are happy to provide measurements so you get a better idea of it'll fit!

Thank you Lizzy for another testing basics! I was at Jigsaw trying their blazers and coats yesterday because of your videos, they have gorgeous collection indeed! I will go to & Other Stories to check out some more options too (I haven't been there since early Summer)! I think all the 5 coats look good on you for different reasons. I actually have a camel coat from Zara last year and I'm still loving it yet I really want to get a more fitted coat in darker color if possible so I can wear some pop of colors underneath. I can't wait for the chunky knits testing basics in the next video, thank you and have a great Sunday! Happy Halloween :)

Hi Lizzy! I was wondering what size you purchased your & Other Stories coat in. I'm from the U.S. and there aren't any stores near by me, but I absolutely fell in love with the camel clothing. I've just been hearing so many mixed reviews about their sizing, and I was wondering what size would be best for me.

Hello I am thinking about buying the &otherstories alpaca coat this year. I am a bit worried about the material. I think that it can wear out or get rough after a time of wearing. Did that happen to your coat? I would love to hear your opinion !

I've never made the connection to poppers making an item look cheaper. A lot of very expensive brands have poppers (sometimes hidden). Often just one or two to sort of half-close them. My wool Jil Sander coat even has poppers. I think it's more a matter of taste, than cheap/expensive.

Lucile Meyer Ah, I think I perhaps misunderstood what you were trying to say. I thought you were referring to the -ay bit of the word polyamide. But now I think you were referring to the -mide part. So poly-a-mide; rhymes with tide. But it's often said like pyramid as well.
