@956Bassaddict- Great video, my friend. I have been eagerly waiting for this one! Almost everyone has been saying this BHG Watt Meter can't read past 1,500 watts or so, & im like it says on the Bass Head Garage website, that this meter can read up to 20k. But i have not seen ANYONE besides you now, that has the electrical= Huge C-Max Bank, Huge Alts., & 2- Crescendo Bc 17k amplifiers to really test this meter out, so thank you my friend❤️!

Thanks a lot, my friend. I think that I can trust the bhg meter when I test at full tilt. On a real competition, we clamped one of the 17k amplifiers with the termlab, and it clamped 22k. I like the AMM-1 it reacts quickly but is only good for 15k. I have 2 of the bhg meters . When I get back from work, I want to connect the second one on the other amplifier.

@@956Bassaddict - I would use the BHG Watt Meter, to ✔️ the impedance curve of your system. Like write down in your note book. Start with your volume down, like around only doing a 140 Db @ 38Hz. Then use test tones, starting @ 10Hz or so, going 1 freq. @ a time, up to 50, 60, 70, 80Hz, wherever you want. Write down the impedance of each freq. This will show you what freq. your amp can make the most power= @ the Lowest total impedance, & also @ what freq. makes the least power= the Highest total impedance. Make sure subsonic filters or Low pass filters are not limiting the freq. That you want to test, as this can change the impedance read vs the actual power that can be made. Since you have a 6th order, it should have 2 impedance peaks, with 3 low valleys. The peaks are where your enclosure is actually tuned @.

The reason your getting different power readings is because you have the meters in different modes. Lots of people seem to make this mistake. The SMD was showing Apparent Power while the BHG meter was showing Corrected Power. Switch the BHG meter over to Apparent Power and they should read the same. 👍

I didn't have enough time to play with the different modes on the BHG meter. When I get back from work. I will try it. Thanks for the advice 👍

Do you have a termlab to compare both to it. On a small amp so its not so loud close to clipping or even little clipping
@956Bassaddict4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, I don't have the termlab. I liked to buy the termlab in the future to get a better comparison. On a competition, we clamped one of the amplifiers with the termlab, and I clamped 22k on a single amp at full tilt
@evilinside59844 ай бұрын
@elcaminosupersport- This was a great test, as most people thought that the BHG Watt Meter could not read higher than 1,500 watts. So this video showed it sure can= 17,775 watts @ the end of this video. Go to the you tube channel: Subs&Paws. They show testing the BHG Watt Meter on a smaller amp. Its more accurate in my opinion= The BHG METER. I don't like false/high power # readings. Im all about consistency.

Bro where can I get a bass knob like custom. I like back to the future Marty

I can ask my friend Roy. He is the person who makes them.

I got a wattmeter and tested mine against a termlab on a burp, wattmeter was only 10w below the termlab

That's very close. I think it is a good alternative for testing on burps 👍

Did you have the BHG meter showing the corrected output using the Power Factor or was it showing Apparent Power?
@eatngoodtv4 ай бұрын
what the hell. the controversy continues...
@JasonWW20004 ай бұрын
The controversy was solved a couple months ago. The meters were not in the same mode. It's been proven they will read the same when showing Apparent Power. (and if the SMD doesn't glitch out and show a crazy high number)

SMD gonna FU up , shading his $250 + meter, for a $100 BHG meter, number are way off ,
@956Bassaddict4 ай бұрын
I my personal opinion the AMM-1 is more accurate on music and more responsive up to 15k. But, the BHG meter can be an affordable alternative for testing on burps for spl porpuse.
@evilinside59844 ай бұрын
@tuffguy40- The SMD Amm-1 has problems reading accurately, when near/passed its maximum rated limits. Example: 15k @ 1 ohm, 7,500 @ 2 ohms, 3,750 @ 4 ohms, & 1,875 @ 8 ohms. But then again, most products would probably freak out when pushed past their limits.
@JasonWW20004 ай бұрын
When both meters are in the same mode, they will read the same power. The AMM-1 does seem to jump up to a crazy high number when the amp is pushed hard. I don't think anybody has figured out why it does that yet. IIRC the SMD meter will read correctly when it's in a different mode, such as showing the volts and amps.

@@JasonWW2000 - Did you watch till 13 minute's & 27 second's into this video, with the Bass Head Garage Watt Meter showing 17,775 Watts @ 1.1 ohms vs SMD Amm-1 showing 25K= (feaks out after 14 to 15k), on a test tone, slow rolled burp!? Just before that he had the volume down a little, & the BHG Watt Meter showed 13,100 Watts vs SMD Amm-1 reading 13,700 Watts= just under its maximum limitations were reached= just before it would freakout/become wildly inaccurate.
