Wow! You are able to power that huge lamp with the energy of the sun?? cool!

as long as the sun is brighter than the lamp, it shouldn't be a problem ;)

Good morning from America, FYI you should never use Chinese cables, they have very bad insulation and have started a lot of fires, and you should use at least 1/0 awg cables per 1000 watts and never use clamps for any inverter over 1000 watts I hope this helps you. We all are learning together. Keep up the good work and stay safe and charged

thanks James for the tip. yup, I already replaced my cables as shown in kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmbNioWigdKSjKs and so far it works quite well...

For US watchers, when describing wires, please also include GUAGE size (eg 12AWG, etc). Thx.

you are right. I try to mention or show the gauge size in the videos but it is not in all videos. will try to improve there.

Is that thing safe for less than 5 minutes at 2000w? Would just need to engage a 1500w electric starter for about 30 seconds.
@LupoDIY9 күн бұрын
Hey @MWS67, I haven't tried it but I would not recommend it as it gets quite hot while pulling 1000W. So I guess it can't handle 2000W, even for a couple of seconds. cheers, Lupo

Why reccomend a 2000w modified sine wave inverter, and then say not to draw more than 800W? Why not buy a better 800 Watt inverter?
@LupoDIY2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nick for the question. I didn't recommend it, it was more a test and show what is possible. Unfortunately, a lot of cheap inverters are not reallu usable for the their rating but in this case you can use it for e.g. 800W. So it is not super bad but don't pull 2000W. cheers, Lupo

that is a no test; ?at least 800 watts or so, to see...

Hey Jose, the first test as shown in the video was around 1000W but the cables of the inverter couldn't handle the load at all. that is why I tried to find a load that could be handled by the inverter. I replaced the cables later (see other videos) which definitely improved the situation. cheers, Lupo

This inverter is basically a pile of junk

@@LupoDIY yes you are correct , I bought my first inverter about 30 years ago it was a 600 watt continuous and was about $700. And that was modified sine
