It seems like a cool product but it's WAY too expensive! $499 for the BASIC package and $600+ for all the pieces you need is WAY too expensive for me to even consider. I think this tool, at this price, is aimed for salons. But if Dyson ever comes out of the clouds and wants to price it for the average consumer then I'd like to give it a whirl. Thanks for the info. 😊✌👍

I can't even imagine using this at the salon.... entirely to time consuming.. I can blow dry and curl one head in 15-20 minutes. And those "curls" dont look like they'd last a full 4 hours.

people are freaking out about the price but it's totally normal to buy a $1000 iPhone 😂🤦‍♀️ i think it's cool, it's the first hair tool i saw that actually dried and styled the hair, unlike those hairdryer brushes that don't do anything. i would consider investing in it, i like how the waves turned out and the brush dried part looked good too. unfortunately it's not available in my country (yet?) but it looks like a tool that would last you years.

@@Milabuco - maybe that's the wrong term. When I say "frizzy" I'm meaning the way my hair does when it's super muggy or raining. My hair begins to poof up and stick out every whichaway. Your hair has never looked dry - this just seemed to disrupt your normally very sleek hair. Hope that makes more sense.

This product sounds amazing. I was never taught how to curl or style my hair nicely. It was straight as long as a teen and now as a mom I just put it up. This product would literally change my approach to my hair. I get confused with a traditional curler or curling wand, but this would do the work for me. Now if only I had the money to spend on it. As a mom with one on the way, this product is too expensive. Perhaps someday it will be a bit cheaper and actually be affordable for most people.

It’s expensive yes, but keep in mind Dyson’s products are so light weight making it super easy to manage your tools and get an even look across the board! Plus, there are several tools that are $300+ for just a hair dryer or curling rod. This product DOES IT ALL! This baby is on my dream list for sure! @kar4jax432

I understand the draw to this and even with all the attachments they're basically saying this is everything you would ever need including the hair dryer. So if you think about it a decent hair dryer alone runs you around $75-$100, then add on the different size barrels of the wand-- most people maybe have 2 curing wands in different sizes again maybe around $30 a piece. Then it can also be used with the brush attachment to give yourself a blow out I wouldn't say MOST people own something like that--(some do) so again maybe another $50 for something similar. You're looking around $210. This product doesn't come with anything to flat iron your hair with and I get with the regular brush attachment you could argue someone wouldn't need a flat iron however some people use flat irons to smooth their hair out in-between washes. So again you'd still need an additional hair tool for that step. Although this product is cool it in no way it worth the $400-$600 price tag.

The whole hair-automatically-wrapping-around-the-barrel thing costs Dyson $98M in R&D. Did you take that into the calculation 🤔? Can any of your barrel do that?
@carinacollyer
@carinacollyer 5 жыл бұрын
Kar4Jax i get where you’re going with this, but Ive got 2 Muk straighteners (different width plates) which are super expensive for a flat iron, a curler for over $100 and a hair dryer for nearly $200. Can be hard to find decent and cheap hair tools that do a good job in Aus without buying the high end brands. My hair tools are probably priced the same in total so an all in one tool would save me with tangled cords everywhere and maybe save on time (maybe!) but damn $700 AUD for this makes me want to cry hahaha.

What people forget is that products dont jusf get priced for the cost of advertising or production but the cost of engineering. Its taken dyson 6 years to make this and all that money and prototypes / engineer salaries etc... its the first of any product like it so before you complain about the price think about all of the factors, also on a side note yes a regular curling iron will do the same if not slightly better job but its heavily damaging to hair which cannot repair itself. Just saying its to help style and protect. I have the hair dryer and it was the best purchase i made for my hair

For people who think it is too costly, you are paying the price for the original and smart invention. No one else in the market except for Dyson can use a technology like this. It won't damage your hair. It will blow dry and style at the same time. It can curl and straighten your hair at the same time. It is a new revolution of hair stylers. I bought the Dyson dryer and I’ll buy this one too. Dyson is the only company working on the technology that exists for our hair. There is a better way to do our hair everyday with less heat. It’s cutting edge which makes it expensive. She would pay $600 because I will too.

Reviewing hair products is part of my job. We do have to spend money to produce this type of videos (hair products are the least of our expense). FYI there is a lot money and effort that goes into these projects and we are very grateful that brands do send us some products to test out.

Not convinced. It's not practical at all, im sure you wouldnt have liked it if it weren't sponsored. You are usually so honest... And those are not curls, they are waves. Hard pass. Not that I would buy it for that price anyway 😂

I think the most important point is that it doesn't damage the hair since it isn't hot so it is kind of revolutionary. wouldn't buy it either because of the price and I also think it can only do one type of curls so it is not worth it but this might be the start of a new damage less era for hair lol

geekista well there’s a reason why she said “i wanna try and do beach waves, BEACHY WAVES”. TBH yeah it’s really pricey, but i feel like it’s worth it. I mean as hair stylist i feel like it would be really handy in a salon. It depends on the person.

I think Ellenet satin hair spray is going to benefit you, RIGHT after you curl a section so the wave/curl doesn't relax so much that it falls out. The results on your hair immediately after are 😀😍Stunningly-amazing, even though they relaxed alot later on. I felt everything you were feeling and I was HAPPY with you🤗 lol

Why pay this much for a tool that's overly priced and will take twice as long just to create messy looking fly away curls. Sorry, not worth it. Cool and innovative, but not practical at all

I got the Dyson and I love it! The curls lasted really well into 5days!!. I only put hairspray when I was done with my whole hair. And didn’t reapply. It was the natural hold by Kenra. My hair felt nice and fluffy. I put dry shampoo on my roots on day 4. Day 6 my hair was still voluminous but no more curls. My hair still looked like it was blow dried professionally because the ends looked flipped out? Idk how to explain. And then I washed my hair lol. The first few curls that I did, did fall out kind of quick but that’s normal for me and will happen even when I do my hair with a curling iron. I’m mexican and have A LOT of hair and it’s thick and heavy. So it makes sense to me that some strands won’t hold up as well.

I’ve just bought this (it arrives tomorrow: yippee) after seeing your review (and others). I want to curl/beach wave my hair but I am utterly useless with my coordination in a mirror with standard curling implements. I’ve tried all sorts...I love my Dyson hairdryer and hope that this will help me. I have got a tyme iron, but the coordination and heat is not a good combo for my thick, but dry hair. I love the curl it gives but, coordination and wanting to protect my hair means it’s a no go. I may look like a poodle for a few days whilst I get to grips with it (but at least it won’t damage my hair too much)!

Ah I so want it. I know the price is expensive. But I don't own a hair dryer, straightener or curler and have been looking into getting some. I feel like if I got good quality of those three then the price in total wouldn't be far off this Dyson price. Not saying I'd pay that price but maybe if you didn't own any hair tools it may be worth the money.

Okay, yes it is expensive and if that bugs you then dont get it. 🙄. You get multiple attachments. My hair dryer was $100, hair straightener $200, $100 for my curling wand. For an extra investment I can be done quicker and do less damage!For me, who has thick hair, this seems awesome! I cant wait to get one! .Very cool!!!

Who remembers the air curler? Where you would attach your blow drier to the pink cup and it would spin your hair and it would dry it and curl it at the same time. Thats what this is but A LOT more expensive.

I would buy this instantly if they had smaller curling barrels. Like well under 1 inch. Preferably 1/2 inch. Not sure if that's even possible but I'm guessing that the effect comes from the motor and the slits so I think they probably could make smaller ones. 1.2 and 1.6 inches just aren't different enough for me and I want curls not waves lol

The Dyson technology is what you’re paying for. It’s no different than paying huge prices for their vacuums, fans, hair dryers etc. we pay 500-1000 for cell phones etc. it’s just technology that we pay for. Dyson is a reliable, trustworthy brand. Definitely seems worth it, to the right consumer.
