That grounding mat sounds like something from the Goop store but with a lower price tag 😂
@gabriellegermain87839 ай бұрын
As an engineer, I can tell you the ground pin of the outlet is not a danger, we actually use bracelets and mats connected to the ground when working with electronics so we don't cause electrostatic discharge (it could damage the electronic), however, I can also tell you that being electrically grounded is not going to change anything in you life. The only thing it might change is that when your feet (and body) are grounded, you won't get any electrostatic discharge. HOWEVER, if you touch a cheap electrical appliance that is badly grounded, you will be the ground and get electrocuted (rarely happen, but not impossible)
@BethanyPlatt3229 ай бұрын
The body can produce an excess of positive ions. The earth has a negative field. Connect the two, and the earth can discharge the excess and bring the body back to neutral. You're not going to notice it right away but doing it consistently over time helps with a lot of health issues including inflammation.

Please put a prettier lightbulb (like an Edison bulb similar to the original product picture you showed) in the lamp, and make sure it's screwed in straight. I feel like it'd be much prettier with the right bulb in there..
@blaireshoe87389 ай бұрын
And if the receptacle to screw it in is just permanently off-kilter and you don't want to go through the effort of an exchange for a non-defective one, you can turn the lamp and hide the cord with something decorative. Definitely needs a prettier bulb though as you said.

In its instructions it say to not use it on wet hair because the water will prevent the red light from penetrating properly. Also, wouldn't shampoos and conditioner foaming block the red light? I'm really not sold on the idea of using it in the shower unless you're only interested in a massage. I'd love to hear about your experience after a few months. :)

Rach, only tangentially related to this video but when you mentioned a fire hazard it reminded me. Have you heard of fire blankets, they're for small house fires which (knocks wood) you'll never have to deal with again. Its a fire proof blanket that can smother a fire putting it out wherever it is. I don't know how you'd review it (though I’d be excited if you figure a way) but just thought it might be nice for you to have for usefulness and general peace of mind.

I'm actually sitting on my grounding mat watching this vid. The peer-reviewed articles are a bit iffy. They measured temp as an example of circulation and the graph is really zoomed in. Having said that, I still got one. I'll use it when I'm feeling "electric" (I'd say why but that is giving medical advice) or when I need to chill. Having a "ritual" in creating a space for you to relax in (aka, setting up the mat, music, heated eye mask) will help create a deeper relaxation. That has more to do with psychology than the mat. I'm still testing it.
@Meika_Rei9 ай бұрын
a few points. neoprene(the material the mat is made of), does not conduct electricity, at all. so standing on the neoprene mat, will not 'ground' you electrically to anything. plugging the one prong into the ground socket of your wall socket, is inherently dangerous. if there is a short circuit in your house(anywhere), you could easily start a fire with the wire from the ground running to anything, including the little connecting "button' on the mat. if a surge from outside the home, like a lightning strike happens, you run the risk of serious injury to yourself or fire to your home by putting a grounding ware loose on the floor. sorry, you got duped into a woo product that actually does nothing but have you install a fire hazard in your house.

Rachel, since that glitter is for the body I’m assuming it’s not eye safe and you’re putting it on your eyes. One little stray glitter getting in your eye could cause a lot of havoc.
@KaityLove228 ай бұрын
There is no such thing as eye safe glitter. They may advertise as "cosmetic grade" which just means no harmful ingredients. The FDA doesn't approve of ANY glitter for use on or around eyes. That being said, they only can regulate whether it is "skin safe". Companies do testing to check that eyeshadows don't cause irritation to the skin on or around the eyelid, which is where we get the "eye safe". (I. E. Skin around the eyes can be more sensitive) Any glitter in the eye can and probably will cause damage and irritation. Most glitter eyeshadows have a warning on them to avoid contact with eyes. So, please just because it says eye safe, don't think it's OK to get in your eye. Always be careful girls and never rub if you think you might have something in your eye. You have to cry or use a steady stream of water/eyewash if available.
@mommashawna7078 ай бұрын
@@KaityLove22 You need to check your facts on that one, there is such thing as eye safe glitter it has no sharp ends so it doesn’t scratch your eyeballs. I worked in the industry for too many years to argue with someone that is making a comment just to argue.
