@@RTB_official If there were a god, then would there be any demand for scripture interpretations by various podium-jockeys using fantasyland vocabulary? We really should address the social acceptance of large numbers of people speaking a fantasyland vocabulary & openly indulging in the deceit of religious belief as a tool of fascism. These are the wolves in sheep's clothing, we know them by their works: A wicked generation seeking signs when Jesus The Nailed says faith is worthless if you can't move mountains by issuing verbal orders to one. Freud wrote the antidote to Christianity is literacy. The Christians slapped their books on the Old Testament, & the Mormons glued theirs on to them both, thus proving Christians lack quality-control. Look at the verbose podium jockey speaking of faith & prayer as if we all should have a preference for travel with one foot in fantasyland. Nothing fails like prayer in a children's hospital, & there is talk as if God does not have a perfect record of doing nothing, as if we had no reason for the saying: God helps those helping themselves. A house divided cannot stand. We vote because Christians have no quality-controls, & we desire those governing not making suggestions travel is best done with one foot in someone's fantasyland. 'Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.'' It was secular law & order ending the inquisitions & witch-killings. One might expect a deity to make itself known to everyone without work performed in interpretations of old literature by guys like our verbose podium jockey. Theologians acquire grand titles without certification from a deity, & project certainty using fantasyland vocabulary in an academic setting to compensate for lack of reason. @Janaina Ribeiro Why would you consider it doubting God to interpret the passage in a different way? There is not a clear, unmistakable interpretation of Genesis 1. You may feel there is, and some scholars are militant about their views. But this wouldn't be such a huge debate if it wasn't perfectly clear. Whatever view you hold isn't going to change salvation, Biblical authority and inerrancy, and any number of other doctrines.

One thing that I learned from Genesis is that the value of hardwork and trust. When God wanted to save Noah and his family, he did not say "let there be an arc". He commanded Noah to build an arc and bring those animals chosen by Him inside that arc. God trusted Noah to build that arc. He trusted his own creation. Noah and his family are not saved instantly. They work hard for it. So if we pray and ask God for something we want, we should not just pray. We also need to act and work hard for it to prove to God that we are worthy of what we are asking. We should be like Noah.

There are other hominid species that existed 1st, with similar but not yet evolved features. 4. This guy is extremely smart, but fails to look at the obvious. There are college courses with the word evolution in the title. Remember the "theory" of general relativity which has been accepted as fact- not complete but observed with out doubt. I believe that "Let there be light" refers to the ignition of the Sun. The reason that the Earth was "formless and void" before that is a reference to the aggregate proto planet that was revolving around the Sun in the protoplanetary disk before the Sun's ignition.
@MutsPub Жыл бұрын
Sorry no. The word bara (Create) is only used 3 times in Genesis 1, It is not used here. Let there be light simply means that God changed the atmosphere of the early Earth, from opaque to translucent, allowing the light and radiation of the Sun, that was Created in the beginning, to reach the surface of the Earth. The book of Job tells us why the Earth was covered in darkness. Genesis 1:2 tells us the 4 starting conditions of the Earth. God did not Create (bara) the light here. He simply said let there be light. The Sun was Created with "the Heavens" and "the Earth" in the beginning. In the beginning God Created the Heavens and the Earth. (Bereshit bara Elohim et hashamayim ve'et ha'aretz.) a) Bereshit bara Elohim (Hebrew) - “In the beginning God Created” b) et hashamayim ve'et ha'aretz (Hebrew): "the heavens and the earth". c) This is a merism, a figure of speech indicating the two stand NOT for "heaven" and "earth" individually, but "everything" (The word "Universe" did not exist in Biblical Hebrew).
@GabrielVelasco Жыл бұрын
@@MutsPub Look again. I did not use the word "Create." I believe your problem, and that of most bible scholars, is that you know much more about the Hebrew language than you do about stellar and planetary evolution. Stars and the planets around them exist for a long time as accretions of gas and dust. It is possible, and I believe probable, that the Earth existed as a protoplanetary blob revolving around a dark Sun. The Earth had not yet solidified and was still accreting matter in its orbit. The Sun existed, but had not yet reached the critical mass at which it "ignites." Ignition is the point at which fussion first begins in a star. So, I believe that the phrase "Let there be light" refers to the IGNITION of the Sun, not the "creation" of the sun.
@MutsPub Жыл бұрын

A summary of the Video: The Harmony of Science and Scripture: Dr. Hugh Ross Discusses Earth's Geophysical History, Predestination, and Global Warming Introduction Dr. Hugh Ross, an astrophysicist and Christian apologist, has spoken on various topics related to the interplay between science and the Bible, from the geophysical history of Earth to predestination, man-made global warming, and extraterrestrial life. By analyzing both biblical and scientific evidence, Dr. Ross highlights the harmony between the two, providing a solid foundation for the Christian faith. Main Body Earth's Geophysical History: Dr. Ross emphasizes the compatibility between the Bible's account of Earth's creation and the scientific understanding of the geophysical history of our planet. As our scientific knowledge increases, the harmony between Scripture and science becomes more evident, which strengthens the faith of believers. Predestination and Free Will: Dr. Ross addresses the long-standing theological debate between predestination and free will by examining the Bible's teachings on both concepts. By considering God's ability to operate within and beyond our spacetime dimensions, it becomes possible for both divine predestination and human free will to coexist without contradiction. Man-Made Global Warming: Dr. Ross argues that God has provided a period of extreme climate stability during a time of overall climate instability, allowing for human development and the fulfillment of the Great Commission. This perspective is supported by his book, "Improbable Planet" (Chapter 15). Extraterrestrial Life: Dr. Ross believes that remains of life may be found on other solar system bodies due to Earth's extensive history of life. He has spoken at NASA about the possibility of finding fossils of Earth's first life on the moon, reinforcing the idea that the Bible's account of creation is supported by scientific evidence. Evolution and Christianity: Dr. Ross discusses the debate between theistic evolutionists and atheists regarding common descent versus special creation. He cites evidence from mitochondrial DNA and Y chromosome DNA, which supports the biblical account of all humanity being descended from one man and one woman. Great Commission and Second Coming: Dr. Ross emphasizes the importance of fulfilling the Great Commission, as Jesus promised to return once it is completed. He states that evangelical Christians today have the necessary resources to fulfill the Great Commission, but lack motivation. Analysis Dr. Hugh Ross's discussions on various topics demonstrate the harmony between science and Scripture, providing a strong foundation for the Christian faith. As scientific knowledge advances, the compatibility between the Bible and our understanding of the natural world becomes increasingly evident. Conclusion Dr. Hugh Ross provides evidence-based answers on various topics related to the interplay between science and the Bible, reinforcing the scientific accuracy and relevance of Scripture in today's world. By examining both biblical and scientific evidence, Christians can strengthen their faith and engage in meaningful dialogue with those who question their beliefs. imreal.life/page.php?i=item&id=1286

Dr. Ross, the reason there isn't the qualifier "evening and morning" on day Seven, is because it is not a day of creation, but a SEPERATE (i.e HOLY... i.e. DISTINCT) day... a day of CESSATION from the work of creation. On the SEVENTH actual day, God CEASED His work of creation. NOWHERE in day 4 does it say God created 24 hour days on THAT day. It says He created the heavenly bodies to be markers for TIME PERIODS and SIGNS. Time existed prior to day 4, because it was created on day ONE: "In the beginning..." 👈 the beginning = of TIME, SPACE, and MATERIAL. Every measurement of time existed BEFORE day 4, and all 6 days are qualified IDENTICALLY: "And there was mourning and there was evening." These "yoms" are qualified IDENTICALLY... They ARE the SAME. Either each is a long time period, or are they are literal 24 days... ALL of them.

When he says that the word "YoM" is used for a period of time rather than a singular day in Genesis One, and then uses examples throughout scripture where that word was used as a period of time, he is incorrect. I checked the Hebrew in each instance that he cited on his website article. When the scriptures that he quoted indicated a period of time, the word was never "YoM" as it was in Genesis One. The word used for a period of time in each instance was either "BYoM" which means "in that day" or "YaMiM" which means days.

@MutsPub Жыл бұрын
Not at all. The only animals on the Ark were those listed that were needed for man / Noah to start again in that region. Man only lived in a region. Not global. God forced man to spread out through the globe after the Tower of Babel (Genesis11:8-9) not before. The only animals destroyed by the flood were those that had contact with man. The flood was universal but not global. All of mankind was destroyed except Noah and his family of eight people total. 2 Peter 2:5 states the world of the ungodly was destroyed. That does not mean the globe. World does not have to mean Globe. Did all the Kings of the "world / Earth' go to see Solomon as was stated in 1 Kings 4:34? - No. Did all the people of the "world / countries / Earth" go to Egypt during the famine in Genesis 41:57? - No. A “Global” flood can’t happen. Day 3 of Creation Genesis 1:9. God separated the land masses from the seas. God's word is consistent. Psalms 104:9. “SEA” boundaries were established by God and will NEVER cover the Earth again. FIVE TRANSLATIONS: 1) KJV - You have set a boundary that they (the seas) may not pass over, That they (the seas) may not return to cover the earth. 2) NASB - You set a boundary so that they (the seas) will not pass over, So that they (the seas) will not return to cover the earth. 3) ESV - You set a boundary that they (the seas) may not pass, so that they (the seas) might not again cover the earth. 4) NIV - You set a boundary they (the seas) cannot cross; never again will they (the seas) cover the earth. 5) NLT - Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, so they (the seas) would never again cover the earth. *(the seas) added for emphasis. No global flood.

Hugh Ross's teachings help the evolution crowd with their beliefs ." If it is not right , then We will just add more time to it to make it right". Chuck MIssler believes in the " young earth". H e was a very good student of the Bible and was also explained why all the conditions at the creation of everything was different than they are now. It all "boils down" to one thing, you either believe that there is a God who can do all things, and that lives outside of time, His word is unfailing , He created time and the thing we know as the speed of light, He lives outside of time so He sees the beginning and the end of this thing called "Time". He has the ability to start time, stop time, adjust time, and even move time back, and in some cases even Compress time. There is no way under God's earth ,that a chart that is dividing the pass into millions of year will be any where close to the actual time that is depicted in his presented chart. If you do not believe Genesis , as written by Moses, who was given the past, by God who allowed Moses to "look at His backside", then you will have a hard time believing that someone died for your sins, and trusting Him as your Lord. There is only one way and that is to believe that there is only one God and that He send His Son, so we humans could have hope , that after we die , that there is a eternal after life with a God who wants us to be His children and wants to be our God. This thing called "Time " is speeding to the appointed end, if you ask how I know, you can compare the present to what , that is written in the Bible. I think this is a great lecture. I think Dr. Ross does a good job of doing a logical walk through and fir the most part , he sites his source for his statements. I think where he falls short is where gets a little more speculative. Such as speculating that good created other mammals for things like fur and to use as test subjects. Both of these speculations make the assumption that God knew ahead of time that mankind would sin. I don't believe there is a scriptural basis for that assumption. I would say the evidence is much stronger in the other direction, that God did not want them to sin. Also the use of furs for clothing may not of been as neccessary pre-flood. Due to the veil of water surrounding the earth. It's quite likely that this effected the climate quite a bit. Aside from those speculations I think Dr. Ross did a fantastic job laying out the facts.

Hebrews 11:3 KJVS [3] Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. The Big Bang theory is essentially a knock off of He 11:3. The really only difference is we are somehow to ignore the fact that there was a incredibly dense singularity that spawned the universe we see around us. So where did the singularity come from? The same question is where did God come from? Since there is increasing scientific data pointing towards intelligent design. One would have to lean towards God creating the universe. In my particular case, some 37 years ago I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, which was a powerful and emotionally moving experience that instilled the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. So when He 11:3 states that the worlds were framed by the word of God, that is a fact I cannot ignore.

Thanks, and enjoy. *Pro.8:* 13 To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. 14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power. 15 By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just; 16 by me princes govern, and nobles-all who rule on earth. 17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. 18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. 19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. 20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, 21 bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full. 22 “The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; 23 I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be. 24 When there were no watery depths, I was given birth, when there were no springs overflowing with water; 25 before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth, 26 before he made the world or its fields or any of the dust of the earth. *Gen.1:* 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. *Isa.45:* 18 For this is what the Lord says- he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited- he says: “I am the Lord, and there is no other. *Jer.4:* 22“My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good.” *2Pet.3:* 5But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. *Rev.12:* 7Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9The great dragon was hurled down-that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. 10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. *Eze.31:* 15“ ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On the day it was brought down to the realm of the dead I covered the deep springs with mourning for it; I held back its streams, and its abundant waters were restrained. Because of it I clothed Lebanon with gloom, and all the trees of the field withered away. 16I made the nations tremble at the sound of its fall when I brought it down to the realm of the dead to be with those who go down to the pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, the well-watered trees, were consoled in the earth below. 17They too, like the great cedar, had gone down to the realm of the dead, to those killed by the sword, along with the armed men who lived in its shade among the nations. 18“ ‘Which of the trees of Eden can be compared with you in splendor and majesty? Yet you, too, will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth below; you will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword. *Jer.4:* 23I looked at the earth, and it was formless and empty; and at the heavens, and their light was gone. 24I looked at the mountains, and they were quaking; all the hills were swaying. 25I looked, and there were no people; every bird in the sky had flown away. 26I looked, and the fruitful land was a desert; all its towns lay in ruins before the Lord, before his fierce anger. 27This is what the Lord says: “The whole land will be ruined, though I will not destroy it completely. 28Therefore the earth will mourn and the heavens above grow dark, *Gen.1:* 2Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. *Gen.1:* 3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. *Gen.1:* 26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,

It is a very good question. It requires one to understand time. Matter, Space, Time, and Energy ALL came from nothing. In the beginning God Created (the Heavens) and (the Earth). The Bible is stating that the Universe had a “beginning”! It was documented ~3500 years before Dr. Hubble proved an expanding universe in ~1929. Any universe with mass that is expanding on average has a beginning.

Dr. Ross, I notice that as you seperate verses 1-2 in Genesis 1 from verse 3... why..?? Because it says "Then God said..." at the begining of each day?? Fine... but then another problem arises: if yom in this context means "finite period of long time "i.e. 'age'", then there are SEVEN 'ages' of time, not six. The 7th day would be the 8th day... yet, the text called the SEVENTH day the day that God ceased. I'm certain you must be aware of this contrast... is this why you took Kaiset's position tgat onky the first 3 days were long periods of time, and the second 3 days as 24 hour days, and include the 1st two verses in day one, in that debate with Ken Ham 4 or 5 years ago...??

It's easy to read Hebrew in phonetic in Roman Script. It took me around a month to get to reading the Hebrew without looking at the English corresponding words. Bayithamashiyach.com is a good example others exist as well. Genesis chapter one is very graphic as read in Hebrew, the traditional English translation runs fairly sloppy. It's in the details that this get's interesting. On day 4 the two great lights are prepared for........ On day six God tells the land to produce animals and then says God prepares the animals. On day 5 God "created" the sea creatures on day 6 God created Adam, not so for the animals. Fish growing legs is oddly supported by Genisis chapter one.

God does not need a creator, God is the “I AM” as said in the Bible. God works through our universe-space and time, and works outside of it as well. If god created space and time it would only make sense for space and time to not affect God(creator) because it didn’t exist b4 creation(space/time/matter->created). Psalms 104:21 God provided prey for the Lions. All carnivores and omnivores ate meat. Remember, Genesis 1:29-30 does not explicitly state that eating meat is forbidden. What does dominion mean? Power to direct, control, use and dispose of at pleasure. The only animals on the Ark were those that were needed for man to start again in that region. Man only lived in a region. Not global. God forced man to spread out through the globe after the Tower of Babel (Genesis11:8-9) not before.

@@stevenbergeron2188 You are clearly a YEC. I was raised as a YEC. I left because God is not a grow lamp! I found that you don’t need to twist and distort Scripture to adhere to some kind of folklore theology. You can't have days 1-3 with no Sun. You can't have evening or morning with no Sun. A Hebrew day starts on the evening, sunset. There was Evening and Morning Day 1. Where was the Sun before that evening? Is that Day zero? Day -1? You need the Sun's gravity to form the "Solar" system! I got in trouble in the 6th grade because I said to the Minister that either there is something wrong with the way it is translated, or the Bible is stupid! I trusted the Bible, so I started asking people that majored in Biblical Hebrew what is going on? They told me that Day (yom) has 4 literal definitions. These days cannot be 24 hours. That is simply "tradition". I KNEW IT! Even as a kid, I knew it! I never looked back! You make void the word of God by your traditions. Mark 7:13. The YEC zealots have become as bad as the Roman Catholics. Even Mr. Ham of Answers in Genesis teaches that you have to believe as he does, or you are a heretic! The YEC used to teach that the Dinosaurs were destroyed by the flood of Noah. Now the YEC teach that Dinosaurs were on the Ark. Why the change? Either way, both positions are complete nonsense. 1) Psalms 104 is a Creation text. We need to read all 66 books consistently. 2) To eat meat or not is irrelevant it simply does not prohibit it. 3) See KZbin Video - "Genesis and Creation days Hugh - Ross and Walter Kaiser" Please listen to a world renowned expert Dr. Walter Kaiser. Your alleged 350 times is an agenda driven YEC talking point and not accurate. The Sun was not Created on Day 4. The 6th day is longer than 24 hours. How long does it take to watch a tree "grow"? We are still in the 7th day for thousands of years. Create (bara) is only used 3 times in Genesis 1, 1) In the Beginning. 2) Day 5. 3) Day 6. I am not going to write 20 pages to explain it. Simply watch the video, or not. No pressure. Many people have found the video useful. It is not a salvation issue. It is an intellectual one. The Church taught that the Sun revolved around the Earth until 1825 because they claimed that it is what the Bible stated!! Do we need to wait another 1800 years for this YEC stuff to stop? Ice cores in Greenland ~130,000 years. Ice cores in Antarctica ~300,000 years. Shalom.

@@MutsPub I didn’t read all of that, but if you can’t have days before the sun, how do you have long periods of time with plant life before the sun was introduced? If you can believe that God sustained plant life for long periods of time before introducing sun, it shouldn’t be that hard to think that God can call evening and morning a day before sun is used as a mechanism for time. So if you can explain how we can have long periods of plant life before we have sun to sustain it, I’ll be more than happy to entertain that. Old earth creationists have plenty of holes in their theology, and evolution timeframe does not match up with God’s word, so you have to twist and distort scripture.

The Bible talks about “clouds” going up and down with people going in and out (Exodus 24:18 - Moses entered the cloud). Clouds do not make those movements described in the Bible, but spaceships do. Jesus ascended in a “cloud” (Acts 1:9). God rides in a “cloud” (Isaiah 19:1, Psalm 104:3). Jesus will come back “with” the “clouds” (Mat 26:64, Rev 1:7). Jesus will come back commanding a fleet of starships. The church will be raptured “in” the “clouds” (I Thess. 4:17). Spaceships will be used to rapture the church. The ancient did not have vocabulary or knowledge to understand what they saw so they called the flying objects “clouds”, “chariots”, and “pillars”, because were the words they had to describe something flying in the sky. The Bible even tells in Psalm 68:17 how many spaceships are in the fleet “The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands” (about 20,000). There is a good research done by Patrick Cooke called “The Great Deception - The Bible UFO Connection” which has the original words describing spaceships. It is all over the Bible. Jesus is real. He is the savior of the world, but He is not seating in a puffy cloud. He is commanding a powerful army, which will take control of our planet and stop all wars. The Jews had contact with beings from another planetary system called The Elohim, commanded by The Most High God. The Elohim had to have a special covenant with humans to be able to save our planet from destruction. They got the agreement with the Jews, but the Jews were not faithful to the agreement so The Most High God sent Jesus to make a new covenant and have legal rights to save our planet from destruction. The Jews made a covenant with beings from another planetary system. Psalm 82:1-6 says that God presides over a great assembly. Something like a federation of planets. If you want to confirm what I am saying just look at a painting made in 1710 by someone that had access to the secret archives of the Vatican. Look at the paint " The Baptism of Christ" by Aert de Gelder. Now that we know more about science, we can understand the descriptions in the Bible. They described high technology but didn't have words to express. When they saw spaceships with strong lights they called "glory”. The "glory" of God was a spaceship with lights. In the interplanetary law the price to save us was innocent blood. That is why Jesus had to die for us. He was fulfilling a legal requirement.
