I cut a lot of those heavy plastic straps when we get lumber deliveries. Those and a million layers of plastic wrap lol. Best thing I’ve found is obviously good geometry but also a course grind so you have like micro serrations. I do most of my blades at 350 grit then strop. It gives it teef and they really grab that smooth stuff. Great vid E!

IMO… as we all have one, blade steel is pretty important. Knowing the steel allows you to understand the steel toughness which is based on proper heat treat. Toughness lets you know how thin you can make the blade without catastrophic failure. Now… blade geometry is enhanced. All are part of the scope of blade performance. It’s my belief steel composition is your beginning. Although… what’s your criteria for your geometry? 😂 which came first? Chicken or the egg? Any way… hope all goes well for your design!👍🏼

Geometry over rides everything though. You can combat steel choice with geometry. Everything else falls RIGHT behind that. Thanks for watching!

I’ve found for some reason with cutting through cardboard, if you cut with your knife at a 45° angle instead of perpendicular to the cardboard it glides through a lot smoother. Idk if that makes sense. Like not a diagonal cut. I’ll just message you and show you
