Five oval tracks (totaling 7 races), five street circuits, and five road courses on the Indy schedule now - and to me that split feels just about perfect.

Not a fan of double headers, I would rather have them race at two different ovals. Pocono is the entire reason for having the aeroscreen and yet we still don't race there, and loudon is perfect for indycar.
@PanderingSlats8 ай бұрын
They have two races at Indy, so I feel like they should ping-pong between areas with two races each: Nashville speedway and the street course, Detroit and most important of all bring back Michigan Speedwayyyyyy

A 24-race calendar with 1/4 short ovals, 1/4 speedways, and 1/2 natural terrain road courses with a few street circuits for variety would be my dream calendar, personally. Speedways are where IndyCar shines because the sheer speed generates awe that few series can match, if any. No other series has 240+ mph cars, and IndyCar doesn't take advantage of that enough.

LMU is already magnificent, I have not been so blown away with a release since GP Legends. It is RF2.5 thankfully keeping all that wonderful feel and physics, but enhanced, runs smooth as silk in VR (easy enabled) not one for eye candy but it also looks utterly glorious. Couple this with an online ranking race system I can see this converting many. Best £25.00 I have spent for years.

As my home track under an hour away, very thrilled we’re getting the Astor Cup awarded at a track that we all thought was pronounced dead in 2012 and for 10 long years after that. The local news stations would revisit it every now and then during that time period. It was sad.

Some useful tidbits from me(I use the iRacing ai a lot to have races when the officials aren't anything I'm interested in): - The slowness at the start is an issue that's been present as long as the Indycar has had AI, they are always slow on cold tires for 2/3 laps. Nothing you do to the AI settings will change that unfortunately. It is a thing in most cars but is definitely more prevalent in the Indycar. - The difference in pace as a race goes isn't on your setup, there is a known issue with the AI that in colder conditions(sunset/night racing) they have a huge difference in grip compared to the player. The devs are aware and are hoping the upcoming rain updates will help with this problem, but for now it is the best to run AI races using noon/afternoon time(though unfortunately less aesthetically pleasing).

If it worked for NASCAR. There's no secret that IndyCar will do the same. Speeding over 200 mph piloting a Formula Speedway car sounds like a recipe for Madness Hoagie but, at the same time, it sounds like a strong Rush of caffeine, adrenaline, and Zen all at once because the idea of having a Formula Speedway car doing circles on a super speedway. Excitement and hype is palpable. I'm looking forward to that to see some of this. Coming in hot fast, fast fast, bad fast, funky fast.

I'm sorry, I can't echo the sentiment. The Nashville oval just feels like another intermediate to me, really. Michigan and Pocono are real super speedways, but I'm not holding out much hope of IndyCar ever returning to either of those. Yes, the street circuit could have used some work, though not even as much as Detroit, I'd say. And I can't think of a comparable visual to the cars going over the bridge next to downtown when trying to picture racing at the oval. And just for comparison, the 2 main straights at Indy are 3,300 ft, while the longer run over the river in Nashville was ~3,580 ft, and even the shorter one was likely ~2,750 ft, so still better than half a mile in length (plenty of room to pass). I may also be feeling a bit of burnout of sorts thanks to NASCAR, but let's face it, top-level ovals, in terms of length, banking, shape, and consistency are decidedly more homogenized than in the old USAC days, certainly. And I mean, compared to CART, we don't have Nazareth as an "irregularly" shaped oval even. In theory, it might be nice to get back to Loudon. I feel like Richmond is a bit too short for these cars; plus, the shape and banking is already very similar to Iowa. Unfortunately, Phoenix was remade specifically for NASCAR. And it's hard to know just how the current Indy Cars will handle the concrete surface. Even when it was paved in asphalt, USAC went to Dover, once, in 1969, and never went back. The IRL tried there twice (1998-99), and left, too. It's still going to be Daylight Savings, so I doubt they'll start the race at dusk here. I don't know about that. TMS is longer, the banking is steeper, and if anything, it looks like the corners there are a larger proportion of the lap compared to Nashville. In other words, the turns at Nashville are tighter, and not just by dint of the oval being shorter overall. The big thing that spiced up the racing on the shorter ovals especially in CART was just the speed differential through the field. That's what led to the wild inside/outside moves you'd see at places like Nazareth as they were working through (much slower) lapped cars. Graham Hill? I know I've mentioned USAC a few times, but... I figure at least 225 laps (300 miles0, and maybe up to 300 laps (400 miles). I'd like to get to a race, though I'd probably say IMSA ranks a tad higher on my list than IndyCar. Also, a lot is just dependent on weather, but if it's the warmer part of the year, I'm going to want to go somewhere where i can watch in some shade. (The Gulf humidity here in Kansas in summer is already bad enough.)

IRacing has definitely a decent AI, probably the best in ovals, but... Still annoying to see the quirks. After pitting they were really slow for a while. It is just so immersion breaker for me I just can't. I also try ovals in AMS2 each time they improve something. Ovals are definitely worse there, but it is the other modern option we have (any other is definitely unplayable). My opinion, neither is worth it to do something serious, like a full championship. I'll keep waiting and dreaming. Nice video Jake.
