I'd love to see a follow up in your next vid on these trucks. I'm skating the Krux K5, the ones with the hole in the front of the hanger for less nose/tail slide friction and low kingpins... To be honest, I haven't really noticed a difference. My kingpin still catches and slides still stick without waxing the side of a ledge where your wheels drag. Anyways, thanks for still making skate content! ☺️ I'm sure the dad-life is a lot, but don't put too much pressure on yourself to go bigger and better with skateboarding. You're in the 1% talent group on a skateboard, so whatever basics and unique tricks you can whip out on a random flat bar or curb in an hour will still be entertaining to the large group of us normies. ;) Much love, hope the fam is good.

The thing about skating loose trucks is that the pop is all YOU! When you skate tight trucks it is way easier to pop and requires way less effort in the trick process(probably ideal to focus more on the trick itself) . I’ve skated loose for many years but only because I like the quick maneuverability and control that comes with it.

Yep, I did too. I remember a bunch of different truck innovations that I tried. Not sure if it was GK but I remember a truck with the axle ends hollowed and threaded to use little screws instead of nuts. The free floating axle. The C Clip instead of the nut idea (always fun when trying to take one off and it flies across the room never to be seen again).

I'm pretty sure some new trucks come with a bit of lubricant in their bushings and pivot cups for some reason and that makes them feel loose at the beginning and they "harden up" after breaking them in, but that's just the lube wearing down

Grindkings were always hex key only, once you get them dialed/broken in you shouldn’t have to mess with them. I’ve heard of people saying they loosen up on their own but I’ve never had that issue. My assumption is that they left them factory tight with no thread showing and it didn’t reach the nylon thread lock

I’m not generally crazy about thunders, but I do like inverted kingpins. I have 2 sets of thunder lows from the ‘90s that I really liked but they both slipped axles and it kinda soured me on the brand ever since. I gave them another try recently with 148 forged hollow lights. They’re decent enough but seem kinda fragile and dainty compared to venture or Indy. They’re almost too light, the standards are probably better
