VERY nicely done! My first introduction to palm pedals was in the summer of 1982. For reasons too boring to get into, I dropped by Bigsby Industries in Kalamazoo, while passing through town, to get a replacement spring for my own B5 unit. Who should greet me at the door but Ted McCarty himself, who had left Gibson some years earlier and become president of Bigsby. He gave me a tour and started pulling boxes off the shelf to show off products. VERY proud of his company and products. One of the boxes he opened to show me was a shiny gold-plated 3-lever palm-pedal. Stunning. He gave me his business card, which I still have, framed, as a prized possession.

That’s so cool! I can’t imagine all the cool prototypes that never made it to production that would be in there. I’ve always wanted a palm pedal. My uncle had one sitting in a box brand new saying someday I’ll have a custom guitar made just for this. As creedence sang someday never comes. It’s probably still on a shelf in a box at his house. He was a huge inspiration for a lot of my playing. Unfortunately my family and specifically his wife have some issues and we don’t talk anymore.

Thank you! I can’t believe how well it actually works. I’m going to try and make a more thorough video explaining what I did in case someone wants to make one.

I agree. I didn't expect it to work. I used to make a lot of "telecasters"!!!

How did you Mount these aluminium Rods to the bigsby? I’ve tried to solve the same problem. Thanks! Brilliant❤
@googaboogaloo5 күн бұрын
@@danielskjdt9777 I had to remove the clips that hold the rods in place and slide it out. The aluminum arms I made using a milling machine and a drill press. Then tapping holes for the set screws.
