LOL I have that jensen speaker sitting in my amazon cart, seems like the popular choice and only $41. Assembling all the stuff I need to start modding this baby up and making sure I'm not missing anything since its my first modification to a tube circuit. Any reason you put the pot on the bottom instead of making a spot to the right of the volume? Also what else have you tried mod wise with it aside from removing the tone stack and the pot which im assuming is at the R7? Thanks for your time desperately trying to get a complete grasp of what im doing before doing it.

@@dexterj5615 I didn’t put the knob onto the back because I wanted it to look stock. I only modded it to 1949 spec and added the negative feedback pot to get more gain. I think I linked the video I followed in the description. Modifying tube amps is very dangerous l, the capacitors can hold voltage even with the amp unplugged. When working on the amp do not touch 2 things at the same time, you might complete a circuit and shock yourself. Keep one hand away from the amp at all times.

What amp do you like more the 303a or the Peavey Decade?
@googaboogaloo
@googaboogaloo 2 ай бұрын
@@nickthewulf the decade is more versatile (and portable, like I can run it off 2 9v batteries) but the 303 is a a cool little tube amp. They both have things they do well. I would probably recommend the decade because these old tube amps can be dangerous if not brought to a tech and checked over. Some of these old harmony amps don’t have isolated transformers so they can kill you if used. That’s not hyperbole, they are called widowmaker amps and if you are buying one be very aware of what model you are looking at. The harmony 303B is a widowmaker where as the 303a has an isolated transformer and it safer, it still has no ground on it though, I have to fix that and replaced the caps.
