Testing my Newly Waterproofed Giant Umbrella in the Rain + a Fresh Dip in the River

Helloo Wild Ones, thanks to all of you who suggested seam sealing me brolly, it appears to have done the trick ☔ Brolly is now ready for it's next adventure.. I have bad weather plans for it when I next get a suitably bad weather forecast (it will probably get smashed to bits, but before that happens maybe I can stay dry a while haha) :D Thanks for watching! Tip: When you seam seal your Gear, no matter if it is PU or Silicon, do not apply it with a syringe. Dilute the sealant (to a syrup consistency) and apply it with a brush so it creates a nicer seal, penetrates the seams better and makes less mess.

Little tip with the seam sealer, thin it down with some white spirit so it ''flows'' a little better and use the syringe + a small brush to kinda make it look like ''taped'' seams a little more. But hey if it works, it works ;) Can't wait to get back to camping and hiking once i am sufficiently recovered from hip surgery. Doing well now just gotta be patient and build up to it ;) Video hyped me up for sure

Hi Claire, this is how it’s supposed to be- nicely sealed seams and the sound of rain lulling you to sleep. I’m learning through people posting about leaks in their tents through these seams and I guess we all should keep this in mind when camping in the rain especially. Camping in the rain is better than not camping at all. But for me, camping in the snow is the most magical. No bugs, bears, or people. It’s not dirty, or sweaty. So beautiful and so peaceful. I’ll camp all summer, sure, but the whole time I am thinking, “Bring on the winter.” There’s nothing like winter camping.

Here is the UK we get a lot of it. I only get to go camping on alternate weekends when my son is at his dads, so I kinda have to go out in whatever weather, or not go out at all. I've come to love the rain :) wind, not so much haha, it can be pretty annoying and destructive, but its fun to test gear out in it if I'm well prepared. I have decided the rain camping videos must be more popular. Claire has a good explanation, but I think some of the other channels must plan their trips to coincide with rainy weather if possible, because those videos get more views. And for us, who aren't out in it, it does sound really lovely, and adds a little element of adventure. Rainy camping videos are one of my favorite things to help me get sleepy at night. More interesting than just a recording of rain noise, but still also lots of rain noise, lol.
