I'm going to say the same thing I said last year when you brought home bargain bin N scale locos.... I wish I could find similar prices here.. Awesome!!! I would buy every N scale loco or box car at $1... regardless of condition, lol

mark peterson calls it an FA-something. you want to avoid the old four-wheel-drive mehanos (MP) and get the eight-wheel-drive proto ones they run and pull much better. plus they can be reliable if you do a motor-tune on them swapping some kato brushes in there while doing it. protos weren't blessed with the best OE brushes in the world.

I got 2 chessie's. They run great. In video of Lansing i picked up a engine n scale for $2 said on sticker doesn't run. Well runs great has slight sticking problem between driveshaft and drive axle. My U.P. needs a brush and spring. Ordering them from factory ( parts dept)
@tommurphy4307 Жыл бұрын
b'mann only sells new motors- no brushes or springs are avail. you can make brushes for them fairly easily, though. in N scale- all the b'mann frame motors use the same diameter brushes- even the spectrum motors.

Good to see most of the N scale purchases operate, Harrison. The Chessie is very nice. I have the Pennsy diesel with passenger consist. I may be biased, but I have to say that's the best of the lot. I see you are starting to duplicate your HO locos in N scale - - nice, but you don't have the Pennsy. The hole in one donut shop will have to wait - - you need to get busy on the Mammoth Project! 😁 👍 👍 👍

Nice finds! I've had good luck with Bachmann N-gauge but not so much with the HO. Make sure the tender lines up with the engine. The locomotive might not be sitting flat on the track.

Attention N scale modelers - is there an N scale uncoupling track for Rapido couplers? I also wonder if anyone has had success with using " rubber restorer " chemical on traction tires?

minitrix made one that had an elongated shoe on it- easier to spot. the guys in my club use wooden food skewers or a rix-pick for rapidos. best thing to do is not to rely on traction tires- or get a bottle of bullfrog snot.
