Why is thick XPS unavailable in the UK? I would have thought that nations up north (British isles, Northern Europe, Canada, northern US) is where you’d find it most. To keep people from freezing up there. Here in Texas we get inch or inch and a half (25mm-37mm) at most, though I could special order large 8-foot sheets of the thicker ones. It’s just not sitting on the shelves. Is it being banned in the UK by the envirocrats?

Our buildings are built differently over here. There are very few timber structures, most are brick. We use a lot more soft cavity insulation over here. You can get things like Kingspan, but most of it is heat resistant so it doesn't cut on a wire cutter and it doesn't take a texture.

@@questsquills Interesting. What’s “Kingspan”? A foam material?
@questsquills Жыл бұрын
@@dartmart9263 Yeah it's a foil backed insulation foam. Kingspan is the most common brand, but there are other alternatives. It's not great for modelling.

@@questsquills I think I’ve seen something that fits that description over here. Not very useful

I have never used static grass, how well does it hold up to the children when they get to use the terrain?
@questsquills2 жыл бұрын
Just glued down, it wouldn't hold up massively well. I spray everything with a sealant to lock it all in. Geek Gaming scenic spray is great for small areas, but I make my own for larger terrain pieces. It's a mix of mod podge, Matt varnish and water that I got from Luke Towan.
