Jill and Derrick, I watched the TLC show for a few years. I stopped because the way the kids, especially the girls, were treated as they got older made me uncomfortable. As the years have passed and more information has come to light, my respect for you has grown. It takes great strength to stand up for yourself, especially with parents. I don't know if you realize how much you are helping others, not just IBLP members, but any child who has struggled with domineering parents. There comes a time when you have to put your health and happiness and the health and happiness of YOUR family first. Stay 💪 strong and take comfort in the amazing example you are setting. ❤❤❤

I used Embark. It was great. 3 years after he got really sick. Vet could not figure out what was wrong. They did every test imaginable. Nothing. I got in touch with Embark, they had saved his sample and were able to run the genetic disease tests on him. I strongly recommend. Can’t wait to see what breeds she is! ❤

We did the health testing one when we did the dna. Now our vet regularly does specific blood test knowing ours is predisposed to a certain liver illness.

@@michelle3445 We got a baseline after the health trait testing came back. Best thing we did, so far she hasn’t exhibited any liver issues and for that we are very thankful. Yet we know what her baseline number is so if it goes up or down we can be proactive instead of reactive, ya know?

German shepherds are also great guard dogs and protectors so the fact that she is made of two great guard dog breeds means you have a family protector with you. Sure right now she is probably still considered a young pup and that is why she is so hyper but as she settles more into the family and gets older I bet some of her guard dog instincts will come out.

My boyfriend and I just adopted a pup last month. The rescue had him listed as a border collie/greater Swiss mountain dog! Strangers even ask if he is a swissie. 2 of his siblings got DNA tested and it came back 25% boxer and the rest is basically a mutt! We would still love to do a test, they’re just an expensive we can’t justify right now!

My old dog Honey looks exactly like Fenna. I always thought she was a Black Mouth Cur. She passed away a week ago. We started looking for new dogs just like her and many adoption places said they were BMCs but some just said shepherd mix. Some even said lab mix. We adopted a puppy last weekend who looks just like Honey. She also seems to be a BMC. We're getting her DNA tested, though some places like AKC don't recognize the breed, but UKC does. I was reading some DNA places don't recognize BMCs as their own breed.

Same with Missy's mama; we never even knew BMC existed and just assumed Lab/Pitt Bull mix with her stocky stature and protective instincts. A guy we knew by chance used to raise BMCs down south and saw right away what Missy was:) Once you've been mama to a BMC, they have your heart and there's no going back haha I pray you can have one by your side again:)

I'll bet a trainer could bring out her strong suits of her breeds and make for an excellent safe keeper for your family. I was watching Carlin (Bates) Stewart's video which showed her and her husband Evan sending their dog to a trainer's ranch for 6 weeks and she came back a lot more chill and easy to handle, in the end, a better family dog.

She needs Composure Pro. It's a natural calming chew that is vet prescribed. My dog is a different dog on it. You see the affects after 2 weeks..She seems like she's an outside dog and not handled alot. Maybe I'm wrong. Ours is inside inky and sleeps with us and lays on our couch etc and she's still kind is anxious.

The pointy ears comes from the German shepherd they have natural pointy ears and Doberman Pinscher have floppy years they get pointy ears by being cropped. And I would say her slim elegant look comes from the Doberman side along with color as well. Great looking dog regardless has two top proactive breeds in her. That’s why she’s so energetic keep up with the training you have a working breed dog that need a lot of stimulation for the mind and body.

We had the Wisdom Panel test done through our vet's office. Our rescue dog is German Shepherd (50%), Labrador Retriever (25%), Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever (25%). The German Shepherd lineage isn't registered but from his Great Grandparents line the Labradors were both registered US Field and UK Show and the Golden Retriever (crossed with the Great Pyrenees) was a US show dog. He's a gorgeous dog. 100% good boy.
@riariaria2 жыл бұрын
Since our dogs were both shelter rescues we decided to Embark them both. Are first is 50% Boston Terrier and 50% Havanese. Our second is 30.4% Chihuahua, 27.7% Miniature Schnauzer, 22.3% Russell-type Terrier and 19.6% Supermutt. His Supermutt has Mini Pincher, Manchester Terrier, Collie and Beagle. We did pay for the health info and I am so glad that we did! Sometimes it picks up potential health issues and other time it picks up genetic health traits that are super important to know. For instance our one dog has the genetic trait that will lower his liver ALT levels. Vets routinely run this test as dogs age and before doing surgery to evaluate their liver health. Elevated ALT levels indicate that a dog is having liver problems. Because our dog is genetically predisposed to having low levels of ALT a normal reading should indicate a problem that needs to be investigated. Our vet took this information and decided to run a through baseline liver panel while he was young so that in the future he has a “normal for our dog” ALT level to reference. Our other dog is genetically predisposed to developing Type I Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) as he ages. Because we know this we’ve put doggie steps in front of our furniture and taught him not to jump down without our help. We also have to be extra careful that he does not become overweight as he ages. Taking these measures should decrease the odds of him actually developing the disease or at least hopefully make the disease milder. If you’re on the fence, I do highly recommend the health test because the $30 cost for the health info can often save you hundreds of dollars in future vet bills.

Our lil Trixie only has 4 breeds, her Daddy was almost 100% Chihuahua and her Mama was half Shiz tzu and half Soft Coat Yorkie. Her Great great great Paternal Grandfather was a Cocker Spaniel! Trixie looks and acts 100% terrier! She has a beautiful blonde no shed curlyish coat (soft wire hair) We were so shocked. Honestly looks like a small Norfolk Terrier. Two great breeds! (and a lil mystery spice). Both VERY smart and protective … this good girl will keep your family safe for sure. Woe to the intruder who tries to break into your house 😂 Edit: Dobies have floppy ears naturally, many people unfortunately crop their Dobermans’ ears to make them stand. Whereas German Shepherd ears are naturally pointed up. That would explain the cute and unique half’n’half ear shape she has.

I can definitely see the Treeing Walker in her. I have a purebred Belgian Malinois and the whole frame of the dog is bigger/longer. Her thinner legs and shorter face is what made me think she had some sort of hound in her. I knew that black and tan is dominant, so if she had only been half German Shepherd or Malinois and half Doberman Pinscher the Doberman markings would have been present rather than the reddish Fawn coloring she has. Most scent hounds are predominantly brown (except for the Black and Tan Coonhound), so that combined with Pit Bull which many also tend to be brown would likely cancel out the coloring of the Doberman.

Please. She's had 3 C-sections. She needs to leave well enough alone. Just because the women in the IBLP cult pop out babies like their vagina is a human PEZ dispenser, doesn't mean pregnancy & childbirth aren't risky. Every year in the USA 700 women die as a result of pregnancy &/or childbirth. Half of the women who give birth vaginally suffer irreparable body damage. I had hoped that when Sam was suppose to begin Kindergarten, that Jill would do something for herself. I can't image an attorney being married to someone who, due to their poor homeschooling, has about the equivalent of an 8th grade education. Before Jim Bob hooked Jill up with Derick, she had wanted to go to school to become a nurse. But Jim Bob refused to let her, despite the fact that she was legally an adult. She should have applied for grants & gone anyway.
