just run the extraction units to a window and make sure there's a filter on it before it exits

Hello friends, for my resin curing workstations I use a combined central exhaust system. I have three ventilated compartments that are all on the same exhaust tube, -dedicated fabricated waste / large print curing chamber (fabricated out of cardboard, UV emitter, and aluminum foil lol), -post-processing work station which has a vent hood and is partially enclosed with a plexiglass face shield -sealed printer / print cure enclosure. All three get connected to printed butterfly valves so that the airflow can be modulated to whichever station demands the highest ventilation flow. From there, its sent through a carbon air scrubber and out the window. Alternatively, in the past before I had the ventilation system I had a combined charcoal / HEPA filter to pull the VOCs out of the air and from the meter readings I took it seemed to work well. The only downside is the filters foul faster than they are rated for due to the high VOC level.

Sounds like a lovely station!

If the ventilation system is not working anyways you can reroute the exhaust pipes to go directly in the office of this ventilation supervisor guy

Hey! About pressure chamber. Don't use air. Air is compressable, if something cracks it explodes. Use water instead (pressure washer works fine). If water only filled chamber crack - it just leaks some water. Check out some diy hydroforming videos.
@CPSdrone8 ай бұрын
You are right, that's exactly what we did at the end of the video!
@_Agent_867 ай бұрын
Came here to say the same. Highly recommend you watch blondihacks building her steam engines. You need to pump water, not air, even if the tube is 100% filled with water
@kamex31027 ай бұрын
@@CPSdrone Thing is you are pumping gas. Even few cc of compressed air can be deadly. Because you are adding a "spring" to the system in form of compressed air bubles. It' might be ok in case of main chamber failure, but rapture of tubings or conenctions might be as deadly as explosion. That's why i'd suggest using pressure washer. It pumps liquid, not air. No springs attached.

To filter the air from the printers, just use activated carbon filter foam, they are made for this purpose
@scoutg0018 ай бұрын
Second this, where I work we have a resin room that you need an organic respirator to operate in and is vented outside with activated carbon filters

For the endcap I would have probably gone with steel inserts... I think wood is a bit more unreliable and takes more effort to fabricate compared to 3D prints... For the resin printers ventilation you could consider ejecting the fumes directly out of the windows. Great job guys, keep it up

I hope you collect all the little acrilic pieces, and dont leave it in the field
@dextersxxxxlab8 ай бұрын
Yes was something I did not like too in the video. There is no way you can collect all those pieces since they are all over the place. Big and small. So for sure, even if you will try to collect all, you will leave a lot of this stuff behimd in nature for nothing. It is pretty dumb if you ask me. But you see many youtube channels making the same " mistakes" over and over again. jigsaw plastic sheets on the planked dock over water with a lot of plastic particles falling in the water, exploding cars in nature for fun with glass and plastic pieces going everywere. I know people in general are bad for the planet, me included. I also love driving a car and my express cruiser yacht. Also buy stuff from china witj a lot of packaging. etc. But just polution without any reason in random nature is just something that hurts me.

5:28 Just use a filter for your ventilation system so you can recycle the air... More expensive yes, but it's what we use at my university. I'm sure there's some chemistry hoods or filters available at decent prices on ebay somewhere... Or just pump air to the outside directly through a window...

@dextersxxxxlab8 ай бұрын
next time when printing those ceiling clamps you should rotate the clamps on their side to print with the longest length up. that way every layer forms a continues hook that will hang from the ceiling. the way you printed them now results in the best looking print but when they are in use all forces are on the layer lines trying to delaminated them.
