A heavy duity winch can easly eat up to 500A pulling. Also inline with Inverters for high AC draw devices. ^^ A example is for me is a mobile DJ Vechile on wheels. A system A DJ controller and some pop up led dance light. For more stationary A pump, AC of grid. Basically any high draw item can greatly use a ultra cap. :)

I guess first off before i get carried away even more here, would you feel comfortable installing one of these b stock units in Your daughters car, that is running 3000 watts? If so, ill revert back to details.. so stock electric, with big 3, all ofc, stock 12v agm or probably lead acid up front, one more in the trunk, and one of These next to it, pushing 3000watts between two amps located within 1 or 2 ft in the boot. Does this sound like it could work? What if i did two of these? Will two of These beat a 320amp ho alternator? Help a bro out here, porfas. I wish i could afford consultation. If im asking too much, just answer about would you install one in your daughters car. Thanks broski. I trust your opinion g
@CarAudioEnthusiasts4 ай бұрын
caps are very safe, so yes i would totally be ok with the install, but nothing will replace good charging. this thing is like a fast reloading crossbow, it stores power fast, gets it out fast, but you still have to pull it back for each shot. same with any storage. looks like your stock alt makes around 150amps, after the car takes its share, you have maybe 70-80amps at most thats a bit small for a 3kmax load. i spotted some 250amp alts for that car, thats the first thing you should go after, then the ultra cap. hope that helps.

Tips of advice- (sorry for the long read, I enjoy this 💩!) Before installing the fuses, use a test light (or a light bulb with leads considering that's all a test light really is... NOT LED either!!) and put the ends where the fuse goes, once the test light dies you can install the fuse and not have it spark scaring the 💩 out of you! (You're right, doesn't matter if you know it's coming, gets you EVERYTIME! 😂) Same for when you uninstall amps, remove the fuse then touch the + and - with the test light, when the bulb dies there is no power left in the amp! (As you may or may not know, you can still blow an amp if you remove it and the terminals are bridged somehow.) Install "Anderson connectors" on your amplifier power wires for quick and safe way to install and uninstall amps! Did you not charge the capacitor before installing? That would be why you blew that fuse! It's imperative to charge supercap banks BEFORE installing, they can blow 💩, take out an alternator (typically overloads the regulator but can also blow a diode, especially if you have a weak diode already) IF you ever need to jump your vehicle you need to remove the capacitor before hooking up another car to jump you or same can happen to the other car! (I install those Anderson connectors on my batteries too, I also install a battery select switch typically used for marine applications that you can connect 2 batteries and choose to disconnect both, connect 1, connect 2 or connect 1 & 2, mainly for the jump start thing as with what we do, it's not uncommon for our alternators to become a nasty parasitic draw! I rebuild my alternator once a year AT LEAST! I have not messed with the ioxus cap but an looking into them (how I came across this video actually) I want to see the guts! I have built my cap banks myself but they are ridiculously priced for cells nowadays. If they actually use 3000F cells I'll buy a few of these B stock. Fun fact, I have a V8 and when I had a nasty parasitic draw, as long as I had over 8.5v in the 500F supercap bank the car would start no problem at all! Supercaps are crazy and are extremely slept on! I'd recommend supercaps over added batteries and even before lithium HOWEVER they pair with lithium beautifully! I recommend putting a 500F cap bank before every amp under 10k, over 8k run 1000F bank or 2 500F banks (So hook the amp up to the cap bank then the cap bank to the battery/batteries). This helps "cushion" the sudden high amperage draw (aka bass hit) that shocks batteries and alternators! You'll always see steadier/smoother voltage with caps! Lastly, I recommend to always run grounds to the chassis. I use billet aluminum distribution blocks that I grind the paint off the entirety of the block, and on the bolts bolting the block down I also put 2 short cables going to my frame (obviously this only works with vehicles that have body on frame, but I'd still run cables to the chassis too, to have those added connections. (I do not run negative cables front to back though, I see it as a complete waste of wire, and with the price of wire now, absolutely!) I run the same number of grounds from battery and cap banks to chassis as is hooked up to the positive terminal. I also run 2 grounds from my engine to body and 2 grounds from engine to chassis (as close to or on the alternator, I have an alternator support bracket that makes it easy to run 1 per side, I also have a Ford and my alt is on the very top and center of the engine so that's nice 😂 I have no under hood battery)

Don't cheap out on your grounds...why use a potentially nasty 'steel extension cord' to get to your battery's neg terminal? Grounds work best when all are at the same potential. And comparing aerospace with automotive is wild! They are not one in the same! (HOWEVER, I mentioned this.....) Full frame or unibody doesn't matter (however I did mention this too regardless but you're not understanding the situation clearly) they are all composed of metal, might be a mix of 2 or 3 different metals but regardless it will be electrically conductive throughout! @@CarAudioEnthusiasts Nice, I just found out those existed like a week ago. It would be complete overkill for my 2500 watt system, but it also seems like it would be the cheapest and easiest way to fix any voltage issues that I have once I get it all installed

Also u said there are different voltage settings... Do I need to match voltage on compactor to same as voltage on battery?

the cap does'nt really care about voltage, long as its between like 7v and 16v

I'd reccomend the D4S lto 6.0s. They're good if you hv limited space but the pack a punch if u hv a good high output alt
@SlamryCamry195 ай бұрын
Bad recommendation it says on the website they are for lower stock charging system not intended for a high output alternator almost every bad review you see on those is because they burn out the cells with a High output alternator and blame down 4 sound just saying BAD IDEA
@PK_EP5 ай бұрын
@@SlamryCamry19 absolutely nothing you're saying is factual. I have been using 4 of them with 2 ioxus ultracaps for the past year with a single 320A high output alt and lots of 0 gauge welding wire and have had no issues. Voltage doesn't even drop half a volt at full tilt and I'm running over 15000 Watts. Any issues people have had with these batteries is always user error, they use dem with stock alt and stock battery without out isolator and are surprised when they fail. If you read the manual and follow what it says you won't have any problems. Plus @THELIFEOFPRICE has many videos on how to correctly install and use the batteries.

Yes and no here for me.. 😭 unfortunately I also had one of these.. the little battery was super powerful ! No complaints on the performance..But I had a guy warn me the top seal and connectors on the battery was super weak and cheap.. I argued with the guy that mine had been solid and it was a good product.. let's just say he won that debate.. the whole top separated off mine , it was shocking how cheap it was made
@SlamryCamry195 ай бұрын
@@PK_EP actually everything I'm saying is factual it's another down 4 sound ripoff like the amps and if you read EVERYTHING!!! CORRECTLY yes it does say one time on the site I just checked to verify ONE time 14.8 volt MAX charging then EVERYWHERE else it clearly states that it's to be used in line with a stock charging system and down at the bottom it says WARNING ⚠️ not to be used with an alternator exceeding 14.4 charging lololol and the reason I said something is because I have several and I do mean several buddies that work in the same building with me all were die hard LTO 6.0 fans and literally every one of them had the same issue the battery catastrophically prematurely failed from nothing more than the cold starts during winter if the battery isn't designed to work with the cold start it's NOT designed to be used at 14.8 period you better stick to the 14.4 and not one of them had a failure on their part it might work ok in a build car but in a daily driver NOPE not happening you might get a couple that get buy with it but if you are truly using your car as a daily driver the LTO 6.0 is garbage and that is FACTUAL

@@NightshiftCustom but did he mean died as in lost charge or died as in broke...also youre right that a cap isnt a battery, but they can absolutely hold a charge, even for years. i know this for sure, because as a kid i got LIT UP by a cap in an old tv, it had been in the dump so long all the wood had rotted away. and while removing some parts from it, i managed to touch the big cap and i think i did a flip!

@@CarAudioEnthusiasts yes a cap on its own can hold a charge sure but this is not that it has a brain box inside that kills off the charge when not hooked up to a battery or not in use this is why it will not work on its own without a battery
