Today I test out the new No 7. Serum Foundations using the shade "Cool Vanilla" in the No 7. Lift and Luminate Foundation on the left side of my face, and The shade "Calico" in the No 7. Restore and Renew Serum Foundation on the right.

I have found the perfect channel. Same skin type and tone! I have been struggling for ages to find a perfect foundation and the Lift & Luminate in Calico was a near perfect match and perfect consistency. It’s being discontinued though :( I struggle with keep product on my nose, especially really oily foundations just literally slip off within an hour. Starting to binge watch your videos to hopefully find a new favorite!

I got the No. 7 Lift and Luminate a few weeks ago. I love it. I wear the Cool Vanilla too. It's my favorite foundation to date! Now i want to try the other one! For reference i am 62 years old with very dry skin.

That's so great Kathy! ❤️ They're both so beautiful, but since you mentioned having very dry skin, I think you might really like the other one (in the pink box.) It felt just a bit more moisturizing on my skin than the Lift and Luminate, but as I mentioned in he video, I really don't think you can go wrong with either! They're both lovely foundations. If you do end up trying the Restore and Renew though (in the pink box) I'd love to hear what you think of it! 😊 Have a great day! ❤️

I’ll need to check the ingredients lists of them both for added *fragrance*. I love that they include a olive-y undertone in light shades. They’re usually made for medium to dark shades. I’m more fair to light leaning. Good review.

Thank you for this review. I went to my local Boots (UK) and got they do an electronic skin test to see how damaged your skin is, colour matching etc. I got matched to Shell in lift and laminate. It is so beautiful and sits so nicely - plus as you said it’s true neutral undertone!!! Now I need a recommendation for a setting / finishing powder!

My favorite high-end powder is the CLINIQUE (loose) Blended Face Powder... I think they may have renamed their shades, but when I go back to repurchase I'm hoping I can find one similar to the one I have because it has a really nice neutral undertone as well, which can sometimes be difficult to find in powders. ❤️ Have a great weekend! 🤗

Hi! Just ran across your channel. I love foundation reviews, and you did a good one. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to do wear tests over multiple days. I find foundations might do great one day, but if I wear it longer or damp, one or any other variations can make a big difference. Also application with a sponge, fingers, or a brush. What a great tip Sherry! 😃 Thank you so much for that! ❤️ To answer your question, I don't have to use a primer with the Renew and Restore, but a lot of times I will throw on just a bit of the NYX HydraTouch primer before applying. Tp be honest, it just feels like more of a moisturizer than a primer, but if I'm having a day where I feel extra dry, I find that it helps! And I do use a separate concealer for blemishes and the under eye are (although the restore and renew is moisturizing, so I could get away without using a separate eye concealer underneath!) I hope you're having a great start to your week! 🌷

Norm is gorgeous. These two foundations are perfect for dry skin. I have them both. I purchased w &w photofocus foundation fond de teint DEWY...works wonderful for the price and virtual meetings etc. ONCE you find the appropiate moisturizer & and sunscreen combo for it. (it is $4.59!)

Looking sharp, Norm! Those foundations both look lovely! I feel like Calico would be a perfect shadematch for me. But not right now, I have some to finish first. It's a bit odd to me that the one with luminate in the name (blue bottle) is less luminous than the other one. I don't have dry skin, and I don't like my foundation too luminous, so I think I would love the blue one. Love it that a neutral shade is actually neutral. A lot of neutral shades still look yellow, at least on me. Thank you for the review.

As far as neutral shades go, I think No 7 has some of the BEST! Unfortunately, I didn't like the product. The color was a bit dark for me, as my daughter said.. it makes you look like you have a very bad tan. The consistency was a bit thick for me and it didn't go on my face well. It just kinda sat there, even tho I blended it well, too me I could tell I still had make up on. But at least I have it a go. I think makeup is just different for everyone. ❤️

Lift & Luminate has been out for quite a while. I think they are repackaging and have eliminated my Cool Beige shade😔. Hope they have it in the new serum formula.

I bought the lightest shade of the Restore and Renew thinking I finally found a foundation that was enough and enough. As soon as it set, I notice that it had yellowed, even with two different moisturizers under. Still search for light and cool foundation.

But thank you so much for telling me about it so I can be on the lookout for when I use these again. ❤️ Also, if you don't mind my asking, do the two moisturizers you used contain oil? Sometimes oil (or reaction to another chemical in our moisturizers or sunscreen) can cause more severe oxidation (yellowing) so, it might be worth experimenting to see if the moisturizers caused the yellowing? I learned from another channel that the difference in the names is according to age. I don't remember which is for what exactly but I think the Lift and Luminate is for 35 to 45 years range, and the restore and renew is for 60+. I truly don't know, I just heard that.

Hi Melanie! 🙂 Great questions! I feel like the Lift and Luminate (in the Blue box, with the black top) may have offered slightly more coverage, but honestly I just like the finish of the Restore and Renew (in the pink box, with the white cap) SO much (and it has a pretty nice medium full coverage too.) The restore and Renew was my personal winner for my dry(ish) skin! I hope that helps! ❤️

Hi 😊 You got it, rather them!! I had NO idea there was 1 in a blue package! 😮 My hubby picked it up for me and the picture I showed him was the one in the red packaging which was the only one I had known about. Do you think it’s worth getting the blue one if I already have the red one? And I’m glad you seem to like it, I love the way it makes the skin look so light and natural and I think it feels good one. I’m so happy you got it!

Hey 👋 I'm from England and the No7 lift and luminate used to be my holy grail foundation it used to have a black lid with a blue band around the lid and it was just amazing then unfortunately it got re formulated to the one like what is used in this video and its was just not the same and not as good at all and alot of people asking for the original formula back😔 and its looks like its possibly just been re formulated again maybe as its now being sold in a white lid bottle with white writing i dont know weather to risk it and try it again and see if its different 🤔 I haven't tried the restore and renew maybe I will give that a whirl 🤞

Hey, update, I just heard in another video that the rumor is the 1 in the blue box is being discontinued, not sure just what I heard, they only have 1 blue 1 left on the website.

Hi Belinda! There's been some confusion on whether or not they are discontinuing or just repackaging. I thought it might be discontinued too, but when I looked at the package on their website, (for the blue one) it was different from the packaging than they had when I saw it at Walgreens. So I just sent a message on Twitter which I'm HOPING🤞🏻 they will respond to, and then I can do a quick update video to let everyone know what they said! Thank you so much for passing along the info though! ❤️ I really appreciate it! ❤️ 🤗

Hi Amy! 😊 I just wasn't sure which shade would match me better, so I decided to purchase two to try them out and see which I liked better. Luckily the two colors were so close I knew that I could "make" either one work for me (by adding bronzer.) Thanks for asking! ❤️

What would you say is the finish of the Restore and Renew?

Hi Kristina! After it dried down I would say it had a very pretty "satin to radiant finish"...it was just barely verging on dewy, but once I put a tiny bit of powder on, it looked more "satin" like rather than straight up dewy. @@ma-cb79on As far as the No 7 Line goes, I would try the No 7 "Stay Perfect" foundation. It contains no fragrance, and is supposed to stay all day, even on oily skin. As far as other foundations go... Clinique has a really good foundation called "Acne Solutions" which contains salicylic acid (but be careful if you're already using aggressive treatments as you don't want to dry out your skin too much.) For a less expensive option, Almay makes a foundation called "Clear Complexion Makeup" which is hypoallergenic, and dermatologist tested. I hope this helps! ❤🤗🙏🏻

Hi Joel! I started with MAC Whirl lip liner. Then I go in with the Make Up For Ever Rouge a Levres matte Lipstick in 403 (it's a very "coral-y" / orange color!) Then I gently tap just the tiniest bit of the Estee Lauder Pure Color revitalizing Balm in 007 "Divine Crystal" (to help tone down the orange of the first lipstick) and then just the tiniest bit of MAC "Prrr" Lipgloss. I’ll need to check the ingredients lists of them both for added *fragrance*. I love that they include a olive-y undertone in light shades. They’re usually made for medium to dark shades. I’m more fair to light leaning. Good review.

So sorry! I thought I responded to your comment yesterday, but I must've typed my comment, and then forgot to hit "reply." 🤪 I'm not sure if the foundations had fragrance because of my allergies, but usually if they have a perfum-y scent I can detect it.... and I don't recall this one (either one) having a perfume scent. (I'll try to remember to start including that in my future reviews! ❤️) And I completely agree with you on the olive-y undertone!
