You wouldn't believe the amount of optimisation that went into this, the sprite rendering, draw code, and several other aspects were rewritten. The draw code in particular is extra special, I have written it so well that even SEGA's best attempts could not match it. Even with all this, the game still barely lags, so I hope you can begin to appreciate these efforts, they are the efforts for which if you were not told, you would take for granted.

The ambience comes from a British electronic duo named LFO from their second album "Advance", the track is called "Kombat Drinking", it starts with a beat, and gradually, disorientating sounds drift in before it finally gives up and the synthetic pads take over.

Lol this will be straight up chaos(no pun intended) if you use an infinite rings code :p Also speaking of rom hacking, I recently tried using a hex editor and copied Sonic's object code from Sonic 2(bin) to the end of the Sonic 1 rev00 rom, then changing the pointer for Sonic 1 Sonic's object code to where the copied code is. I tried it to see if Sonic would behave the same as in Sonic 2 and he could use the spindash(glitches were expected) but when I ran the rom I thought of another possibility that the game would crash, so I started the game and it crashed before Cliche Hill Zone could load. Guess I'm not adding the spin dash in Sonic 1 in machine code... But anyway the hack in the video seems like it took a lot of effort... You sure are talented at the genesis(maybe more so than Jon Burton/GameHut).
