A double decker adjustable sluice box . What other sluice box out there is this versatile .Not junk and not a toy . Hopper, classifying screen, and sluice box adjustable for each type of ground . Nice thing is you don't have to have your paw in it to move material , which takes away from shoveling . If It catches flour gold you can bet it will catch any gold coming through the classifying screen . One more step, a finished iteration for sale. Lets hope it works as well Good video Kyle

It's coming along nicely, I'm onto prototype number 4 by now and it's something special! I can't wait to put in the finishing touches and show you the final build videos!

Hi kyle. It is better to test it with gold material to see too if you are losing more or less gold. It is possible when you make the hopper angle higher up is the material running faster in the box. Another idea is making signs on the side from the hopper to see if the water angle is in the right position. That is washing the gravel clean and getting pushed out. Only ideas!! My legs are square pipes. The brackets are square pipes that fit in a tiny bigger one. It has a hole in it and a welded bulb on it. That's stronger. I really like the idea of the adjustments. Great idea for a different paydirt. Works better than before. Good job.

My woven wire grizzly screen is 3/8, and is angled anywhere from 30-35 degrees. Having a steep, auto-clear grizzly is a must for me. With a mesh size of 3/8 I don't lose much, if any, water and material down off the screen, it all goes through. Lots of people waste time having to manually swipe their screen 4 or 5 times every couple of shovels because their grizzly isn't steep enough, and doesn't clear properly. Your system is looking good!

The steapest setting at 29 degrees seems to do really good when you have material in the box. Not much water comes over when there is rocks in it. When it is clened it self out water runs over. So that should be good.

Great job Kyle, with the ongoing desighn of your highbanker which is especially well suited for Alberta flour gold. Your critical thinking with fine details is being directed over every square cm of your project. And, still going to the land of under?

Hi Kyle! Nice research, it's the Mercury catcher saying - I need a sluice like yours 😊 . ! With my mercury matt 😂 . Watch you later .

I really like the effects of your spray bars. I think you have got it with the flat screen. I could very easily mount a crash box in the hopper and have a 2 1/2" dredge in play. I am very anxious for your grand finale! Thank you!
@UtmostOutdoors Жыл бұрын
It might be a stretch, but I'm hoping it can handle the water flow of up to a 3" dredge with a few more design tweaks for my friends in the US.
@timberlinegoldprospecting2358 Жыл бұрын
@UtmostOutdoors I am equipped with both so we are set, although if I could get into some material as easy to shovel as yours I could move more material highbanking than dredging.
@UtmostOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm pretty spoiled with some of the easy digging gravels I find in some areas. It's the only reason I went for the double wide sluice, because I can actually out shovel a normal sized box with the low and slow flow rate... Definitely a lot harder to move ground in a lot of places!
@robb3341 Жыл бұрын
I tried putting a curved screen on my box too, but had the same problem! I found putting a small vibrator motor on the hopper works best, and doesn't need to be as steep to allow better wash. The vibration through the sluice also breaks the water tension and sinks gold into the mats!
@UtmostOutdoors Жыл бұрын
That's a cool idea with the vibrating hopper!

@@UtmostOutdoors Cheers mate! I found it to be a game changer. My box was already good at catching fine gold, but now its catching the finest gold I've ever seen. plus it helps jiggle the rocks out the hopper.

Modify the screen to form a Jarvine Riffle. This will catch the water while not impeding the oversize material rejection.
@UtmostOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I think that might work better as part of the main sluice, where as sharp bends perpendicular to the flow in the screen may wind up causing some material to hang up on the screen instead of sliding off... It would definitely help with the water sliding off the end though, that's a cool call on that.

Any idea what the price point will be on this production model,this would make a great beach box as well.
@UtmostOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I'm going to have to wait until after a full production run to get an accurate price, but I would estimate a touch over $1200usd or $1600 Canadian. I want to make it the best and most complete sluice available so that price may change once I've got the final product ready... That wouldn't be half bad for a full size 20" wide box though I think.
@MerchantMarineGuy Жыл бұрын
Weight info very interesting. Have you considered making a 6” version?
@UtmostOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I would like to make a 8" single level version that takes the learning from this machine and puts them into a package that can be run with a bilge pump... I just don't know if I will have the time to put something together in time. The reason I like the idea of an 8" box, is that with miners moss and expanded, you can actually still run the machine fairly hard, but the matting doesn't need much water flow and so you don't need a gas pump. I wish I had more time to work on these designs, we'll see...
