I have a boss I installed myself. Wiring was easy, and the was no frame drilling, but I don’t like the low ground clearance when not plowing. I will never hit my rear differential with it installed, but the fisher plates I removed gave way more clearance. I like the plow featured. Except it doesn’t seem to stack snow. I have only had one storm i used the v as a v to break through shush piles that turned to ice while pushing. My transmission runs 150, it doesn’t overheat even with the plow, but my water temp will get high at idle. I click to manual and drop it down a gear and it comes right back down. That’s a new issue with an orielly water pump and thermostat. 08 2500hd
@Dirtmonkey2 жыл бұрын
I had to do the same thing with my Hiniker. It habitually overheated my transmission while driving so I shifted down a gear and ran the plow super low. This snopower doesn’t give me those problems

Neat plow works good. Talked about no plow lights needed reminded me of my parents neighbor the truck he had. It was a 70s f250 can't remember what plow he had but the truck sat so high he didn't need plow lights. I am thinking it was a highboy but not 100% sure about that. Of course back then the trucks seem to sit higher then today's trucks do. My dad had a 75 f100 and that sat higher then my 01 Silverado does.

Hey I’ve watched several other videos on this plow. Also installed plenty of plow wiring back in the day. In my opinion plows should be on separate and own wiring. But now they have plow prep wiring on new trucks. It helps lockup these new 8-10 speed trans from shifting into a gear not good for plowing . I see those guys didn’t use a lift . 212 -190 is hot on the trans temp, coolant okay I can see that. I upgraded my trans cooler in my 2013 Silverado 1500 and I added a second one to my 2016 3500HD Sierra. On my 3500HD with a Boss 8.2’ XTV I saw 190 degrees trans temp prior to the upgrade after driving it 17 miles on back roads from the dealership to home. Now the truck sees 125-145 degrees on the trans temp with my 7.5’ Boss straight blade. Regular cruising around town the truck rarely gets over 130 degrees. GM transmissions s cool at 190-210 degrees.
