I own one of these bikes. I'm disabled & I was finding it very difficult to set off from a complete stop because the motor doesn't seem to kick in immediately. In fact, I dreaded stopping at junctions. A couple of days ago, I contemplated fitting a throttle to make setting off from a complete stop easier. While I was out, I was playing with the controls. I found out how to put it in walk mode. I held the minus button in & started to peddle. Low & Behold this small boost helped me set off without struggling & wobbling all over the place. After one crank of the peddle, I released the button as I was going fast enough for the motor assist to kick in. I have no need to fit a throttle now & stopping at junctions is no longer an issue for me. I hope this helps anyone out there. If any of you own an ebike & you have a walk assist, give it a go & see if this works for you.

I am not disabled, but I'm 80 years old, and I need all the help to get started, though maybe not as bad as you might have. I always use the throttle to get started. I mean always. I hope that helps. By the way, I got 3300 miles on the bike from May 2023 until today, 8/11/24.

War gerade wieder unterwegs damit.Ich kann es nur bestätigen.Macht soviel Spaß und man fährt viel sicherer als mit normalen Reifen.Ich habe mit 58 Jahren meine Job an den Nagel gehängt und nach einem tollen Bike gesucht weil ich gerne in der Natur unterwegs bin und mit einem Citybike kann man schlecht über Stock und Stein fahren.Das Ovia ist perfekt wenn man flüssig und sicher unterwegs sein möchte.Ich liebe es mit jeder Fahrt mehr und mehr.Ach ja, die top Federung ist natürlich auch erwähnenswert.Als 158 cm kleine Frau habe mich darauf sofort sicher gefühlt und würde nie wieder ein anderes Bike fahren wollen.

I have the Ovia and will purchase another one. I live in Virginia, which borders Maryland and West Virginia. Starting out in Washington, DC (Georgetown), one can ride 184 miles on the TowPath to Cumberland, Maryland, and, if you like, continue on The Gap to Pittsburg, PA. Going downhill in number 5, with the right hand in position No 7, I did 44 MPH. ONCE. I'm 80 and want to be around a little longer. With the Ovia, my odometer, which was number one in May 2023, finds me at 3,380 miles. Not bad for an old man. And I'm still going strong. Would I recommend an Ovia? Well, I'm 5-7, and I say yes. You can go for it if you are on the wagon about getting an e-bike. I got it when I was 79 years old. But I recommend having a biking partner. I found an early retired person who loves to ride. I got a KUAT bike rack, their most expensive one ($1400 or so), and it holds over two hundred pounds. However, the ramp had to be modified, which meant I had an iron worker weld some braces to hold my bike.

I've got two questions. 1. How much does a replacement battery cost? It is going to fail at some point, as do all batteries. 2. How easy is this bike to pedal home, if the battery becomes exhausted of its charge? From what I can see, this is a heavy bike. My Giant Talon MTB weighs next to nothing, but sometimes I don't feel like peddling, as I'm 62 years old.

Does the bike come with the twist throttle but restricted until you remove the lead ? I understand it will give you more power when it's deristricted.

Hi, the following info i got from Cyrusher: 1. The Ovia is a little higher than Kommoda: 2. Battery - Kommoda 48v 14ah - Ovia 52v 17ah ; 3. Suspension - Kommoda Rear Spring, Ovia is rear Air; 4. Throttle - Kommoda Thumb Throttle, via handgrip twist. I too am seriously considering one so Hope this helps

@@ianross04 thanks very much. Looking at this at the moment to take away in my motorhome. I have a eskuta sx250 for round town but it’s 52k so a bit heavy. Don’t want to have to fit a big rack on the back to carry it which would make my motorhome over 8m long. The crusher would pop inside for travel at only 30kilos. Looking to be the one judging by the write ups.

P3 set to 0-9 default is 0-5 set P5 TO 100 , default is 50. Sorry but if you have`nt reset these programs then you hane,`nt` showed us what this Ovia can really do

Hi Colin brilliant video but I would never have a ev bicycle or car they’re too dangerous a shop in the USA selling ev bikes one of the bikes burst into flames and killed 4 people in the flat over the shop and over 20,000 ev vehicles have burst into flames over 200 people have been killed by them some motor company’s are stopping the build of theme while they investigate the problem with the batteries Bernard
